COVID-19 transmission and
protective measures

COVID-19 spreads primarily from person to person in several different

ways:
•It can spread through droplets and aerosols released when an infected person coughs, sneezes, speaks, sings or
breathes.
•It spreads mainly between people who are in close contact with each other, typically within 1 meter.
•It can also spread in poorly ventilated and/or crowded indoor settings where aerosols remain suspended in the air
or travel farther than 1 meter.
•It can also spread if a person touches surfaces that have been contaminated by the virus.

Protect yourself and others by following these precautions:

•Get vaccinated as soon as it’s your turn
•Keep a distance of at least 1 meter from others
•Open windows when indoors
•Wear a mask
•Keep hands clean
•Cover coughs and sneezes

DOH advises the public to practice protective measures. It is still the best way to protect
oneself against COVID-19.

based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.

b. Practice proper cough etiquette.

Recommendations
Few days ago according to the WHO,
a new variant of concern (Omicron)
is identified that is first recorded on
Africa. I suggest that we do not
lower the alert levels specially
Christmas is near and gatherings
cannot be stopped. Also OFW that
are coming back and tourist should
have negative results of RTPCR test
and have to undergo 2 weeks or 14
days of quarantine so that sudden
surge like on March to September
this year where all hospitals are very
full and many are still outside
waiting for vacancy. This will be a
huge help not only for the frontliners
but to reduce the cases here in
Philippines
