 Ethio Telecom formerly known as ETC (Ethiopian
Telecommunication Corporation) is a Telecommunication
company established in 2010 with Ethio telecom as its
registered name. It has a vast number of services

Organizational Structure

 Ethio Telecom get organized under the control of with two Chinese
companies, ZTE(Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment
Corporation) and HUAWEI as it is scheduled on the transformation
of Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporations to Ethio Telecom .
Since I was in the network division, here is the organizational structure

of the Network division.


Network, Services & IT Management Department

 The Network, Services & IT Management Department is in charge of


the business continuity and performance of the whole division.
NAP (Network Activities Piloting)
Piloting monitoring of networks integrated to NNOC (National Network
Operation Center )
24*7 daily activities (Shift work)

 Fixed Line Access next generation network(FLANGN )

Chapter II

1. Task one (Monitoring and follow up)


 monitor and manage
As Fixed Line Access next generation network(FLANGN ) section I have
a task to do. In short what we do here is we monitor and manage the
alarms in the network(Unified Network Management System). BY that
we mean after an alarm or a fault is found in the UNMS .trouble ticket
must be issued for the alarm to the O&M Department so that it could
be fixed.
 follow up task
with means the monitoring task I carried is handel by The O&M
Department or not .
2. Task Two (VLAN REGISTER&CONFIGERATION,PING)

 Ping is a computer network administration utility used to


test the reachability of a host on an Internet Protocol
(IP) network and to measure the round-trip time for
messages sent from the originating host to a destination
computer.
round-trip time → measures the time from transmission to
reception and records any packet loss.
 VLAN REGISTER& CONFIGERATION
Adding of vlan addres to subscriber cards(Ethernet passive optical
networks (EPON), Giga Ethernet Integrated Line Card(GILCA)) that
foun( MSAG)Multi-Service Access Gateway for Residential customers
and Enterprise customers of ethio telecom.
