C. Description
New Pc air filter assemblies are released that delete the chamfer at the intersection of the inlet
fitting bore and the inner wall of the housing front face. Parts I and II describe the affected part
number Pc filters as follows:
PART I:

For engines with P/N 6875726 Pc air filter assembly, only the housing of the Pc air filter must be
replaced with new housing P/N 23034711.
PART II:

For engines with P/N 6874958 Pc air filter assembly, replace the entire Pc air filter assembly
with new assembly P/N 23033400.
NOTE: Parts necessary to do this bulletin will be available at a reduced price through
your local distributor until the final compliance date of April 30, 1990.

2. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: The list of manuals in Section I.L. gives applicable disassembly, cleaning, inspection,
repair, reassembly, and testing instructions and are to be used when necessary when
you do this bulletin.
A. PART I:
For engines that use Pc air filter assembly P/N 6875726, do the steps that follow:
(1) Remove the Pc air filter assembly (Ref. applicable Operation and Maintenance Manual).
(2) Examine the Pc scroll--to--Pc filter tube assembly. Ref. applicable publication as follows:

250--B17 Series TP CEB--A--1194
(3) Disassemble and clean the Pc air filter assembly (Ref. applicable Operation and
Maintenance Manual Pc air filter assembly cleaning procedures).
(4) Examine the filter element assembly. Make sure that you examine the filter element
fittings, threads and mating surfaces for cracks or damage. If there is damage to the filter
element assembly, replace the entire Pc air filter assembly with new P/N 23033400.
(5) If the filter element assembly is acceptable for continued use, reassemble the Pc air filter
assembly with a new Pc air filter housing P/N 23034711 and new packing
P/N M83248/1--122. Torque to 150--175 lb in. (16.9--19.8 Nm), and install lockwire to
safety.

WARNING: All maintenance personnel must be aware of and follow the
recommendations given in the Operations and Maintenance Manual for the
removal, installation, and torque procedures for rigid tubing before you do
maintenance on the Pc system. Correct torque of the Pc tube coupling
nuts is 80--120 lb in. (9.0--13.6 Nm). Damage to the tube can result if you
tighten above this range.
(6) Reinstall the Pc air filter assembly. Make sure that the clamps and torques are correct.
(Ref. the applicable Operation and Maintenance Manual.)
(7) Cut the removed filter housing in half and discard.
B. PART II:
For engines that use Pc air filter assembly P/N 6874958, do the steps that follow:
(1) Remove the Pc air filter assembly (Ref. applicable Operation and Maintenance Manual).
(2) Examine the Pc scroll--to--Pc filter tube assembly. Ref. applicable publication as follows:

(3) Replace P/N 6874958 Pc air filter assembly with new P/N 23033400.
