(10) ABC is the given triangle in which AC = 20 cm, BC = 15 cm Angle C = 90 degree.

Let CD be the perpendicular from C on the hypo. AB to meet it on D. Again if CD = x cm.,
then
From Pythagoras Theorem AB² = AC² + BC²
=> AB² = 20² + 15²
=>AB = 25 cm
Area of the right triangle ABC can be written in two ways.
(1) taking BC as Base : Area = 1/2 BC*AC
(2) Taking AB as base : Area = (1/2) AB*CD
=> (1/2) BC*AC = (1/2) AB*CD
=> 15 * 20 = 25 * x …………….. (1)
=> x = (15*20)/25 = 12 cm
