Introduction

In this report, my purpose is to explain and justify my reasons of choosing a suitable project. Therefore I
will explain why I chose this option.

Methodology

For this project, I worked alone. As part of my Enterprise Coursework, I searched for a variety of ideas
and did primary research to find out about my students market. My aim is to sell most of my products
during the Enterprising Day and I had to ensure that the products are affordable and simple to manage.
Below are the examples.

Option 1: Spring Roll

There are advantages of selling Spring Roll as they are popular Snacks and quick to make. there is a
possibility that I get a school loan which will provide me with enough money.

Disadvantage

However as per my market research this can be a good idea. But as spring rolls are popular, my
respondents wanted to purchase. Through this market research the other two options are not so liked
as it is not the most demanding but will attract a lot of customers.

SWOT ANALYSIS: SPRING ROLL

Strength:

Spring rolls are popular snacks and is easy and quick to make.

It has a good reputation in the market

Good location as it will be held in the school

WEAKNESS

Since it is oily I have to improve the quality for example the flavors, veg and non veg

In order to buy the ingredients, I have to raise a good amount of money and I can have a lack of cash
flow.

OPPORTUNITY

Since there is majority of students in the school, I can target them to buy.

There has been an increase in student population and demand may therefore increase.

THREATS;
Students taste and preferences may change

There can be unexpected weather conditions and also high demand but products can be insufficient.

Option 2: Bracelets

Advantages:

Bracelets are nowadays in fashion and most girls are very fond of these. Bracelets can be a great use to
my enterprise project as 42 % chose to buy the black ones. I will be able to attract more respondents
and they may be willing to buy more in quantity.

Disadvantages:

But Bracelets have high expenses as I will need new raw materials and cannot buy them at a second –
hand basis. Also I don’t know if the materials used in producing the bracelets are good quality. This idea
was rejected due to high costs.

SWOT ANALYSIS FOR BRACELETS

STRENGTH

Nowadays bracelets are usually worn by girls and there are different models and colors. Usually these
are in fashion and on trend.

WEAKNESS:

There can be high costs as materials are not easily found and are expensive

I may have to travel long distance in order to get the raw materials and I don’t have any experience in
making bracelets.

OPPORTUNITY

Since it’s a girl college, there will be a wide variety of choices and are in fashion.

THREATS:

There can be a change in demand and choices, since I don’t have any experience in making bracelets, I
may risk of using inappropriate raw materials which can be dangerous.

Option 3: Juice

Advantages

Through the market research, the results showed that 11% are willing to buy juice and will have an easy
way to increase my sales. While making the juice I have to ensure that it is being prepared in a hygienic
place as I have to think about their health. Also, there is a high level of demand and the school does not
sell fresh juice every day.

Disadvantages:

However, I may face some problems with this idea as I am not aware that if there are students who are
health conscious such as they prefer sugar free juice and freshly made.

SWOT ANALYSIS OF JUICE

STRENGTH

Since the canteen don’t sell juice everyday it is usually on season.

And if its summer time there is more likely to be an increase in demand.

WEAKNESS

Student preferences may change if they have negative peer influence from their friends.

OPPORTUNITY

There has been an increase in the students population and I can make full advantage of selling at an
affordable price.

THREATS

I may not have enough in terms of quantity if there are too many students to serve which is low
production capacity. There can be health issues of students.

Market Research

A primary market research was conducted in a total of 46 samples which was conducted among the
students in the school. A sample size of 3 was given to the students in each class and was collected in
the breaks just ensuring that the questionnaires are filled in.

helpful in choosing among the options.
Conclusion:

As the enterprising day would be an event for the whole school, the idea of selling Spring Roll was
decided. Spring Roll is a better option as there is a variety of flavors that can be sold. The survey showed
there is a greater demand for Spring Roll and it is affordable.

Task 1 : Final Conclusion

Choosing a suitable project idea was a bit tough for me. But after doing my required Market Research it
was easy to carry on with my project. My reasons for conducting a survey was to be able to know about
the consumers who are willing to buy these products. After conducting the survey, most t of the
respondents have chosen juice as their preference. It is easier than the other ones as there are less costs
and more responses. As for juice i did not choose as there are some hygiene practices that I have to take
into consideration. However for bracelets there are high unit costs for making them and these raw
materials are not easily available . After conducting the research which was totaled 46 I have known
better about my respondents taste and preferences. Also for Spring Roll, there are 64 % of the
respondents who has chose to buy Spring Roll during the enterprising day. To conclude, I have chosen to
sell Spring Roll in order to meet my respondents demands.
