1.) Brief Tourism Profile of the Destination.
Carmen Municipality is home to famous Cebuanos. Originally named as Bugho, the town
of Carmen in northern Cebu became a municipality on June 16, 1851 through the
initiative of Facundo Bout. Carmen is one of the province's most well-known
municipalities for some reasons. Because of its beautiful green surroundings and natural
water resources, such as falls, streams, and rivers, it is a popular destination for nature
exploration and natural resorts.
Carmen, as a rising municipality, is gaining popularity and a growing population.

Domestic and international visitors come to the municipality to enjoy its attractions,
which include resorts, forest regions, and natural environments for leisure and active
events.
2.) Identify the area’s available tourist attractions and describe the features of these
attractions.
a. MIDDLE EARTH MOUNTAIN RESORT
- The Middle Earth Spring Resort is a newly created resort. It is located in

Carmen's Barangay Lower Natimao-an. The resort has four swimming
pools that get their water from the Mangitngit Falls. Middle Earth Resort is
ideal for tourists who are searching for a location to admire nature's
beauty while still enjoying the creature comforts of a resort. The resort is
one of the most popular weekend getaway spots for locals.

b. CEBU SAFARI AND ADVENTURE PARK
- In early 2017, photos of the adventure park being developed then

surfaced on different social media sites from people who were granted an
exclusive tour and some of which falsely announced that it was going to
open in April 2017. This prompted Lhuillier, the owner, to clarify in a press
conference that it was untrue and they were aiming October or November
2017 as their projected opening date.
The adventure park, which opened in February 2018, was conceptualized

by Lhuillier after his visit to the San Diego Zoo in California after collecting
several exotic animals and plants. The Cebu Safari & Adventure Park is
the premier Safari park in the country located in Northern Cebu. It serves
as a sanctuary for hundreds of different species of plants and animals. A
brainchild of hippophile and orchid collector Senyorito Michel Lhuillier,
together with his business partner, Mr. Eduard J. Loop, this over
170-hectare property features more than a thousand animals from 120
different species.
Located in Barangay Corte, Carmen, the Cebu Safari and Adventure Park
serves as a sanctuary for different species of plants & animals and
features mainly the African Savanna, Michelle's Garden, Gardens of
World, and the White Lion Safari. It also has a zipline which is 1.3
kilometers long and 671 meters above sea level. The park is open
everyday, including on holidays, from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
c. ALHIBE FARM

Carmen, a municipality in the Philippine province of Cebu, attracts a wide range of
visitors due to its numerous attractions and activities. The types of visitors that visit
Carmen, may include:
➢ Tourist - Carmen is known for its natural attractions, which attracts tourists from
both within the Philippines and around the world.
➢ Local Travelers - Residents of nearby towns and cities frequently visit Carmen
for day adventures or weekend vacations to enjoy its natural beauty, pleasant
climate, and recreational activities.
➢ Cave Explorers - Carmen is located in various caves, which attracts spelunkers
and cave explorers seeking to explore its underground chambers and formations.
4.) Discuss how important the tourism industry is in the chosen area/destination.
- Tourism may have a significant economic influence on Carmen and the communities that
surround it. It has the potential to immediately create jobs in the hospitality and service
industries, such as hotels, restaurants, and tour operators. Tourism may also encourage
between cultures and understanding by allowing tourists to connect with the local
people, learn about their customs, and share their own experiences. This may help in the
preservation and promotion of Carmen’s distinct cultural history. Furthermore, natural
assets in Carmen such as waterfalls, caverns, and woods may be protected and
conserved due to their significance as destinations for tourists. Environmental problems
and the need of maintaining natural resources may be raised through responsible tourist
activities.
