AES 11.1 Service Pack 1 (Jun-2002)
v0.93 Thermodynamics Improvements
Improved ease of use
• Property Packages can be exported and saved to any directory (rather
than a fixed directory in the Aspen Plus/Aspen Properties product tree)
• CAPE-OPEN Component identification data for an exported Property
Package
• Viewing of available comps and properties before importing a Property
Package
• Coexistence of CAPE-OPEN components in AES 11.1 and later (e.g. 12.1)
Defects fixed
• Proper matching of components when importing a Property Package by
using the CAS numbers
• Correct format for the GetComponentConstant method to return data

AES 12.1
v1.0 CAPE-OPEN Interfaces Support
•Scope as per AES 11.1, with the following improvements:
• Upgrade to v1.0 of the specifications
– v0.93 is kept for upwards compatibility
• Addition of Reaction Interface Socket within CAPE-OPEN Unit Operations
– Used, for example, by Fluent interface
• Implementation of “Public Variables”
– Allows parameter(s) of a CAPE-OPEN model to be manipulated from Aspen
Plus or used in Aspen Plus as part of a specification
• Significant improvements in performance:
– 15 times faster when using an AspenTech Package in a third-party application
•Agreement with Fluent Inc to market Fluent software for use in Aspen
Plus and HYSYS
