Effluent Treatment Plant – ETP is used for treatment of wastewater which comes from different
manufacturing industries where different types of chemicals and dyes are used to treat the
materials. Objectives: To protect the environment from the harmful effect of the wastewater,
effluent treatment plant is used where waste water is treated and makes it not harmful to the
environment.
STP Water CLARIFIER

The clarifier separation the treated slurry from clean water. The sludge settels down and clean
water at the top flows down to the cooling tower from where it content in this water must not be
greater than 100ppm. The clarifier has a racker arm which extracts the sludge out of clarifier. In

BAR SCREENING

The influent sewage water passes through a bar screen to remove all large objects like can, rags,
sticks, plastic packets etc, carried in the sewage stream. This is most commonly done with an
automated mechanically raked bar screen in modern plants serving large populations, whilst in
smaller or less modern plants, a manually cleaned screen may be use

STP Water Aeration Tank

The aeration tank (together with the settling tank/clarifier that follows) is at the heart of
treatment system. The bulk of the treatment is provided here, employing microbes/ bacteria for
the process. The main function of the Aeration tank is to maintain high population level of
microbes. This mixture is called MLSS (mixture Liquid Suspended Solids) The mixed liquor is
passed on to the clarifier.

Sludge Tank

In the sludge tank the sludge is continuously agitated in order to prevent settlement of sludge.
Each tank has capacity of 22m3 and can hold for 8 hrs. Main purpose of the tank is to hold is

sludge for transfer to filter press. From sludge tank the sludge is pumped to filter press by filter
press feed pump.

Industrial Water Filter Press

Sludge from the sludge tank will be pumped to the filter press equipment’s for dewatering
purpose. According to Performance guarantee the cake moisture should not be more than 20%.
For this purpose different types of filters are used namely gravity setters, gravity belt filters,
centrifuges, vacuum or pressure belt filter and filter press. But Among these filter press is most
efficient.
