3.1.2. LEDS AND ERROR CODES

First check if there are any red LED's on either the TVB board or the IDC board. See chapter 3.4 for
explanation of the LED colors.
Look in the Field Service Framework for error codes. Refer to system documentation for explanation of the
error codes.

3.1.3. HARDWARE CONFIGURATION

The IDS19 subsystem will not function properly if either TVB or IDC is missing in the PC Host or the
interfaces and devices are not connected. The location of the TVB and IDC in the PC host is fixed. The slots
in the PC host are not numbered. Counting from left to right the IDC has to be inserted in slot 15. The TVB
has to be inserted in slot 14. This is illustrated in figure 4.

The POST of the TVB and the IDC are independent of the status of the PC Host. But without Windows NT
operating or the PC Host POST the field service framework will not work.

NOTE

In the picture the +/- 15V on the front plate is not shown. To have a working system this power supply has to
be present (BHFLD-X2).
When it's necessary to disconnect the cable between the IDC and TVB the PC host has to be kept powered
on.

The fault finding tree below helps to locate the cause if no image is visible at the exam (and reference)
monitor.

Preconditions:

PC host and CPU are working and communication between SYSCO and IDS 19 is possible. If this is not the
case then go to no communications fault finding tree.
Also the Digital Imaging, the monitors and the link between the Digital Imaging and the monitors should be
working. If this is not the case refer to the Digital Imaging unit manual.

3.1.6. DISTORTED IMAGE

The fault finding tree below helps to locate the cause if a distorted image is visible at the exam (and

brightness and an image with artifacts (e.g. defect pixels).

Preconditions: PC host and CPU are working and communication between SYSCO and IDS 19 is possible.
If this is not the case than go to no communications fault finding tree.
Also the Digital Imaging, the monitors and the link between the Digital Imaging and the monitors should be

When started the POST of the TVB tests the following: the TVB (PCB), the PCI bus of the TVB to the
PC host.

− IDC board (PCB)

When started the POST of the IDC tests the following: the IDC (PCB), the PCI bus of the IDC to the PC
host, the cable between IDC and Image distributor, the connection between the IDC and the RIO and
the connection between the IDC and the II generator (High Tension generator).

− CAN

Test image 4: A defect pixel map send to Digital imaging

Measuring Field Carrousel test:

In this test the measuring field carrousel is moving mechanically to all the available measuring field positions.

XTV video link test:

The video link test will test the connection between the TVB and the Digital Imaging

Doselink test:
The Dose link test will test the connection between the IDC and the X-ray generator.

Life image:
With the life image the path from the camera head, TVB and video link to the Digital Imaging is tested.

Average video level test:
