Nutmeg Merchandiser

Job Title: Nutmeg Merchandiser


Reporting To: Nutmeg Supervisor
Role Summary

The role of Nutmeg Merchandiser plays an important part as you will be an excellent team
player involved in the success of the Nutmeg department. This role will assist the department
Supervisor to meet achievable goals and sales targets whilst delivering outstanding customer
service, ensuring that every decision you make and task you complete is at the very heart of
providing excellent customer service whilst ensuring that you are following company’s
standards, policies and procedures.

Day to day this role involves in a variety of tasks including merchandising the Nutmeg clothing
range to visual merchandising guidelines, alongside cosmetics, clip strips, gift cards, building
and replenishment of display units whilst always maintaining a professional attitude and
excellent customer service.

Responsibilities and Duties


Customer ❖ Deliver exceptional customer service through a professional, friendly
Service and efficient service to both internal and external customers.
❖ Maintain exceptional standards of the Dee Set and the Nutmeg brand
in a smart and professional manner at all times.
❖ Be willing to ‘Go the Extra Mile’.
❖ Attend and complete company training and keep up-to-date on regular
communications to ensure product knowledge is current.
❖ Able to remain flexible and work at different times and hours
applicable to the needs of our customers and business.
❖ Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the department at all times.

Delivering ❖ Able to use own computer/SMART phone to do the job.


results ❖ Successfully merchandise and replenish nutmeg clothing range,
cosmetics, clip strips, gift cards, as well as other ad-hoc products
relating to seasonal or new product ranges,
❖ Always be customer friendly and willing to help customers when they
need help in store.
❖ Effectively work as part of a team to achieve own and team/company
targets.
❖ Support supervisor to ensure the full availability of all products through
accurate stock taking, stock and ordering processes.
❖ Understand and read detailed written and planograms to achieve best
results when merchandising.
❖ Able to use own initiative as and when required if needed to make
improvements relating to sales targets and health and safety.
❖ Read and understand the product codes and sizes in order to organise
stock and manage stock levels.
❖ Always ensure the correct procedure for manual handling and working
at heights is followed adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
❖ Deliver a fast, efficient and friendly service to internal and external
customers.
❖ Flexibility is a must in order to support commercial trading times such
as evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, peak Christmas trading
time and sale launches and any team absence.
❖ Take on-board all feedback and goal setting from supervisor to
improve own personal and departmental development.
❖ Be willing to be adaptable to change and want to work on your own
development through online training and goal setting.
❖ Must be happy to work on own during quiet times of the business.

Communication ❖ Able to use a computer/SMART phone for communication to receive


instructions and send reports.
❖ Always communicate to customers and third parties in a confident and
professional manner.
❖ Effectively communicate with your supervisor to raise any issues or
concerns.
❖ Effectively communicate with your fellow team members in order for
the team work efficiently together.
❖ Completion of any handover documentation.
❖ Read all daily communications in order to keep up-to-date with
company information
❖ Ongoing completion of E-learning and attendance of any training.

Health and ❖ Be vigilant at all times during your working day assessing any
Safety potential risks to yourself, your team and our customers.
❖ Ensure you adhere to both Dee Set and Morrison’s Health and Safety
policies and procedures.
❖ Raise any health and safety concerns to your supervisor and team as
and when required.
❖ Report accidents and incidents in line with Dee Set procedures.
❖ Ensure all health and safety online training modules are completed
and passed.
❖ You will be required to manual handle and lift boxes, Climbing stairs
and ladders to also include moving roll cages and trollies.
Skills and Experience

❖ Retail clothing experience (Desirable)


❖ Customer service experience is a must
❖ Strong numerical skills
❖ Great at organising and have an eye for detail/precision
❖ Confident to work alone or on your own initiative
❖ Cool when under pressure
❖ Eager to work in a team that works hard, supports each other and learns everyday
❖ Able to deliver great standards and services for our customers
