BSIS – 2B

ASSIGNMENT #1

1. Research about Industry 3.0 and 4.0, What is the difference.

- The difference between Industry 3.0 and 4.0 is that Industry 3.0 also known as “The
Digital Revolution”, is the replacement of human work and making it faster and more
efficient with the use of machines, programs, and algorithms that partially performs the
work. This era was known for its robotic capabilities because the tasks that humans do
are often executed by robotics, yet the involvement of humans is still needed there in
automation. However, Industry 4.0, also known as the 4th Industrial Revolution is
application of data, information, and communications technologies within the
production chain, through concepts such as Big Data, IoT (internet of things), BI
(business intelligence), robotics and the like. Industry 4.0 makes decisions that support
production in real-time, it refers to the smart and connected production systems that are
designed to sense, predict, and interact with the physical world.

2. Where is Philippines now base on 3rd Industrial Revolution and 4th Industrial
Revolution that you’ve researched.
- Based on my research, the Philippines has gone far in the 3rd Industrial Revolution
because there are many machines around the Philippines that lessens the workload of
the people that do their jobs. Although machines are doing most of the workload, it still
needs a manpower to really do the job properly. In the 4th Industrial Revolution, the
Philippines is still on the lower side of it because our country is not really that high in
terms of application of data and such but it has been preparing to advance further in the
4th Industrial Revolution especially the payment transactions right now in the
Philippines, many people are using Gcash to buy things and to also save money in it as
well as buying in shoppee, Lazada, and other online applications that can do that.
3. What relevant Industry 4.0 outputs can your course contribute, and how?
- I think the relevant Industry 4.0 outputs that Information Systems contribute is mainly
about programming and the design of the program because in 4th Industrial Revolution,
programs and such are really important because people are highly interested and
dependent in such things, that’s why my course can really contribute many things in
the 4th Industrial Revolution.
