Learning Content:
● A transfer involves moving a person safely from one surface to another and giving
them the chance to learn new skills that will help them become more independent.
Keeping patients active and safe is essential for maintaining good physiological
function, minimizing sedentary behavior, and improving general health in the context
of comprehensive healthcare.
Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the lecture demonstration, students will be able to:


1. Identify various patient transfer procedures.
2. Showcase a comprehensive grasp of fundamental principles and practices concerning
patient transfer.
3. Explore the significance of patient transfer in the context of delivering nursing care.
4. Recognize correct body mechanics during patient transfer.
5. Proficiently exhibit the proper sequence of steps and techniques for patient transfer.
6. Ensure the safety of patient transfers, preventing harm to the patient.
7. Recognize diverse transfer tools and equipment and how to use them correctly.
8. Comprehend and uphold ethical principles related to informed consent, patient
autonomy, and confidentiality.
9. Display exceptional communication skills when collaborating with the healthcare team,
encompassing clear and concise reporting, while practicing effective teamwork and
acknowledging the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to care in high-pressure
situations.
10. Cultivate the ability to evaluate complex clinical situations and adapt to unexpected
challenges and evolving circumstances.
