WARNING
Always read and adhere to all warnings and instructions provided by the manufacturer of
the battery being tested. This product contains or, when used, produces a chemical known to cause
cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all
possible conditions and situations that may occur. Persons who are not familiar with the operating
instructions, children or persons under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication should not
operate this instrument.
CAUTION
If battery fluids contact your skin, face, or eyes, immediately flush with plenty of fresh water, and then
contact a doctor.
Unpacking
When unpacking, please check and make sure the parts are included. If any parts are missing or
broken, please call your dealer as soon as possible.
OPERATION
Note: Before any testing, make sure to clean the battery contacts.
1. Connect the Red Clamp (+) to the positive (+) terminal post on the battery. Connect the Black
Clamp (-) to the negative (-) terminal post on the battery.
2. Check the Battery Tester LED Window (See FIGURE 1) to determine effectiveness of charge. If
the Battery Tester does not register and no display is seen, double check that the Clamps are
connected to the proper terminal posts. Make certain a clean connection has been made
between the Clamps and terminal posts.
3. Press button (B) to select the cold start current of the battery.
The selected cold start current is indicated on the display for a short time.
The lowest value for the cold start current is 200A and increases by 100 Amps each time the
button (B) is pressed. Caution: Please do not confuse cold start current with battery capacity
(e.g., 60Ah), the value for the cold start current is indicated on the battery.
4. Press the test button (A), the test procedure is shown on the display. The devise shows the test
result after about ten seconds.
Attention: Do not test more than three times in a five minute period. Allow one minute for cool
down between tests.
Note: If a battery does not have the charge expected, have a qualified technician check the
specific gravity. There may be an electrical drain or charging system trouble. If charging does not
raise the specific gravity, you may have a defective battery. Analyzing test results by color
display: The Battery Tester will measure battery output/ charge in two ways. The Condition
Indicator (See FIGURE) will indicate a color telling you the general condition of the battery.
5. If the battery is without significant charge, charge the battery according to the manufacturer and
make a new test. If the new test is without significant charge again, then the battery is defective.
Connect the Red Clamp (+) to the positive (+) terminal post on the battery.
Connect the Black Clamp (-) to the negative (-) terminal post on the battery.
Check the Battery Tester LED Window (See FIGURE) to determine effectiveness of charge.
If the Battery Tester does not register and no display is seen, double check that the clamps are
connected to the proper terminal posts.
Make certain a clean connection has been made between the clamps and terminal posts.
Start the engine and let it run. Without using the Load Switch, observe the voltage readout when
the engine speed reaches between 1200 to 1500 RPM.
Determine the condition of the loading system on the basis of the table:
Charging system
< 13,5 V 13,5 – 14,4 V >14,4 V
voltage
Charging system Charging voltage Charging voltage Charging voltage
condition too low OK too high

Example
• If you read a stress test measurement of approx. 10.4V (step 6) and a measurement of 8.2V
while starting your vehicle, there is no problem with your ignition system.
• In case of a lower reading than 8.2V, your ignition system is malfunctioning. Consult the data
from the table below for your comparisons:.
