defective. What is the probability that the first is defective and the others are not
defective?
Problem 06. The LTO issues license plates consisting of letters and numbers. There are 26 letters
may be repeated. There are 10 digits and the digits may be repeated. How many
possible license plates can be issued with two letters followed by three numbers?
Problem 07. If a beam of light has an intensity Io is projected vertically downward into water, then
its density I(x) at a depth x is I(x) = Io e^-1.4x. At what depth is the intensity one half
its value at the surface?
Problem 08. A hemispherical tank of radius 20 ft. is filled with water to a 15 ft. depth. Find the
work done in pumping at all the water to a point 10 ft. above the hemispherical tank.
