CRITICAL EVALUATION OF NURSING COLLEGE
VISIT
REPORT
• As a part of Nursing Education requirements, M.Sc.(N) students were
planned and organized to go College of Nursing, Manipal by obtaining a formal
permission through letter to the principal of college of nursing, Manipal on
09.01.2023 under the guidance of subject coordinator.
• Totally 32 M.Sc.(N) students gathered in College of Nursing, Manipal on
13th of February 2023 at 2 p.m. We were welcomed by Dr.Binu Margaret.E.
Assistant professor of child health nursing department and she briefly explain
about the institution facilities, parent hospital and other allied health science
courses. We finish our visit at 4 pm.
• It is one of the best nursing college concerned with imparting international
level quality education and training in the field of nursing in Manipal. Karnataka.

Boys Hostel
Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal University, Manipal has a boy's hostel
on the campus premises. The hostel is equipped with various facilities for students.
Girls Hostel
There is a girl's hostel at Manipal College of Nursing. The girls' hostel has
several facilities for the students.
➤ Library
Manipal College of Nursing facilities includes a well-maintained library for
students and faculty members. The library has a huge collection of books,
references, periodicals, textbooks, e-books, journals etc. Students have access to
digital and print study resources through libraries.
 I.T Infrastructure
Manipal College of Nursing has modern IT infrastructure with high-end
servers.
 Wi-Fi
The entire Manipal College of Nursing campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The
institute provides Wi-Fi access for students and faculty members
 Medical/Hospital
Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal University, Manipal has a healthcare
centre for students and faculty members. All students are
covered by Medicare, which covers general hospitalisation, drugs and
outpatient benefits (excluding drugs, materials, etc.). Students have access to
hospital facilities for hands-on training.

Manipal College of Nursing facilities includes a well-equipped cafeteria for
students and staff members that serves nutritious and healthy food.

Manipal College of Nursing has guest house/waiting room facilities for
visiting faculty and student family members.

maintained gymnasium equipped with various gym equipment for students and
faculty members.

 Tie-ups: Tie-ups with various international institutions such as Ngee

Ann Polytechnic Singapore, Middlesex University UK, McMaster
University Canada, Hochschule Bremen University Germany,
University of Nottingham, Auckland University of Technology New
Zealand. The Government tie-ups include research funding of up to
1.14 crores INR from Global Fund to fight against Aids, Tuberculosis
and Malaria, organised by Indian Nursing Council.
 International Collaborations: Student/faculty exchange programs
with Ngee Ann Polytechnic Singapore, Sultan Qaboos University,
Sultanate of Oman, Hanze University Groningen, Netherland,
McMaster University, Canada.
 Placements: BSc Nursing graduates are given placements in
associated teaching hospitals of Manipal Academy of Higher
Education based on their merit (academic and non-academic records)
subject to vacancies in the respective hospitals. Over 85 percent of
MCON graduates are placed abroad. Some of the leading hospitals
which visit our college every year for campus recruitment are Fortis
Hospital New Delhi, Medicity Hospital New Delhi, Tata Medical
Centre, Kolkata and Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai
CONCLUSION
Manipal College of Nursing is one among the best nursing colleges in the
country. The college offers unmatched training in nursing education through its
highly qualified and experienced faculty, excellent infrastructure and University's
teaching hospitals. As part of enabling students to prepare for successful careers in
nursing, the college encourages its students to participate in various research
activities. Students of this college are provided with ample opportunities to exhibit
their talents in co-curricular activities at various levels - intra-collegiate, inter-
collegiate and inter-university.
