Analysis
an American author, zoologist, and conservationist. She is best known for her 2018
novel Where the Crawdads Sing. Owens was born and raised in Southern Georgia,
where she spent most of her life in or near true wilderness.
Introduction: a coming-of-age story of a young girl raised by the marshlands of the south in the
1950s. When the town hotshot is found dead, and inexplicably linked to Kya, the Marsh Girl is
the prime suspect in his murder case.
Rising action: Kya's relationship with Chase in the past, and the intensification of Chase's
murder investigation in the present.
Resolution : Kya ultimately reunites with Tate and begins a life with him back at the marsh.
They grow old together, with Kya dying in her sixties from a heart attack.
