Test Name Unit Reference Range Low Normal High

Deficiency: < 10
Vitamin D [25-OH] Insufficiency: 10-30
(Serum, ng/mL Sufficient: 30-100 11.00
CMIA/Electrochemiluminescence) Toxicity: > 100
Clinical Information / Interpretation:
Vitamin D:
1. Vitamin D in the body is derived from dietary (D2&D3) and biosynthesis(D3) sources. While 1,25-Dihydroxy vitamin D is more potent,
levels of 25-OH forms accurately reflect the body's vitamin D stores.
2. Levels may be high in primary hyperparathyroidism, physiologic hyperparathyroidism secondary to low calcium or vitamin D intake, in
sarcoidosis and other granulomatous diseases and some malignancies. Levels are decreased in hypoparathyroidism and in chronic renal
failure.
3. Reported results are for the information of the referring Clinician. Results should be interpreted in correlation with medical history, clinical
presentation and other findings.
4. Reference ranges and clinical information/interpretations are traceable to kit inserts/textbooks/defined guidelines and
"https://www.mayocliniclabs.com/test-catalog/index.html".

Folate (Folic Acid)
(Serum, ng/mL 4.6-18.7 9.71
Electrochemiluminescence)
Clinical Information / Interpretation:
Folate:
1. Folate is derived from dietary sources as well as synthesized by intestinal microorganisms. Levels fall within a few days after dietary folate
intake is reduced and may be low in the presence of normal tissue stores.
2. Deficiency is most commonly due to insufficient dietary intake. Low levels are associated with macrocytosis and megaloblastic anemia,
neuropsychiatric disorders, in pregnancy, in alcoholics, etc.

presentation and other findings.
