Maria De Los Angeles Guerrero Troncoso

Dear Maria De Los Angeles

We are pleased to inform you that your bursary application has been successful.

The bursary is intended to help with the essential costs of participating in your study programme at
college.

How much bursary you receive depends on:

your individual circumstances

what you told us you need help with on your bursary application

the amount of funds available

All payments are conditional on students meeting agreed standards of attendance and behaviour as set out in the Learning Agreement.

Some students will receive more bursary than others. The college assesses on the basis of individual circumstances and actual financial need, as
stated in the Education & Skills Funding Agency guidance. Awards are based on the items you said you needed help with on your bursary
application and our criteria. Bursary funds cannot be used to support general living costs or household income.

Some awards will be made in kind and some will be payments into your bank account. You must only use the money received from the bursary on
the support that has been identified as necessary to help you participate in education.

Travel Awards

If you applied for support with travel costs, please log into your Bursary account to see how much your individual travel award is and the payment
schedule.

Travel awards depend on the distance you live from the college and how many days you attend. Please note, the award will be a contribution
towards your travel costs and the amount may change subject to available funds. There is no travel award if you live less than 2 miles from the
college. We use Google Maps to calculate the walking distance from your home postcode to your main college campus.

You should apply for a 16+ Zip Oyster if you are aged 16-18 and live in a London borough.

Below is an estimate of contributions towards travel this year, based on distance lived from college:

Distance from college/Days in college 2-2.9 Miles 3-3.9 Miles 4-4.9 Miles 5+ Miles

5 Days £150.00 £250.00 £350.00 £450.00

4 Days £130.00 £230.00 £330.00 £430.00

3 Days £110.00 £210.00 £310.00 £410.00

2 Days £90.00 £190.00 £290.00 £390.00

1 Day £70.00 £170.00 £270.00 £370.00

Oyster Card Application Award

If you ticked that you need an Oyster card, you will receive £20 to cover the cost of the application.

College Essentials Awards

If you ticked that you need college essentials (stationery etc), a £30 contribution will be awarded in the first instance.

Trips and Extra-curricular Activities Awards

The bursary can only help with compulsory trips and extra-curricular activities where these are essential to your study programme. If you have a
trip/extra-curricular activity during the year, please bring a letter from your teacher with details of the trip/activity and cost to the Bursary Assistant on
your campus for assessment.

Compulsory Kit/Uniform/Equipment/Book Awards

A letter or order form from your teacher is required. We can arrange an internal transfer payment to the college department if your teacher will be
ordering these items for you. Alternatively, you can supply receipts to the Bursary Assistant for a refund to be considered.

Work Placement Awards

If you need to go on a work placement as part of your course, we can help towards the cost of travel to the placement. A letter from your work
placement coordinator will be required confirming where the work placement is and the period you need to be on the placement. You will need to
know the route you will travel and how much the fares will be. Please take the letter and travel details to the Bursary Assistant at your campus.

in updating your bank details it may result in your bursary payment being rejected by the bank and your payment will be severely delayed.
