Pre-learning: To check the students home task in their
2 min copybooks.
Warm-up (3–4 minutes)
• Books closed. Divide students into groups and write the
3 min word animals on the board.
• Allow students about 1 minute to brainstorm the names
of as many animals as they can.
• Elicit ideas, then write mountain, forest, river, desert, steppe
and lake on the board. Ask students to put the animals
they brainstormed in the correct category.
• Tell students they are going to do a quiz about animals in
Kazakhstan.

Middle Task 1
• Match the animals with the pictures.

* Practice the words individually
Descriptor: matching the animals

Presenting grammar: Adjectives.


 Teacher distributes worksheets with some list of
adjectives and writes the rule on the board.
 Teacher enables the students to complete the table
using the grammar rule individually.
