Application).
Unless otherwise specified, it is sufficient to reinstall only the application SW for updates
of the Image System AXIOM Aristos.
Required Tools 1
Safety Information 1
The “Safety Information“ contained in the system manual and in the particular unit instruc-
tions must be observed.
Required Parts
Description Quantity
General Remarks 2
The purpose of this procedure is to give instructions to load the NT OS into the Image
System AXIOM Aristos after the system drive is replaced or Re-install over an existing
Windows NT. It is recommended to load the NT OS before loading the Image System
AXIOM Aristos Application. It requires that the proper set up and configuration of the hard-
ware and associated BIOS setting has been configured correctly.
The NT OS CD must be run from a bootable CD ROM device.
Backup 2

NOTE All information in the drives will be destroyed. Archive all the
images or put them on film before carrying out this installation.
Follow the instructions in the chapter -5- to back up the AXIOM Aristos Image System
Configuration and ORGAN programs, if this is necessary.
NOTE If problems during bootup occur or error messages appear that could
lead to a stop of the boot routine following a new installation, it may be
necessary to COMPLETELY format the hard disks.
To install the NT Workstation operating system on to the Image System AXIOM Aristos,
perform the following steps:
• Switch on power to the Image System AXIOM Aristos.
For Celsius M410 grey cabinet with SCSI Plexwriter 40/12/40S only:
• Insert the O.S. VA21 CD-R-SCSI-Boot-Diskette 4787631 G2192
End of Celsius M410 grey cabinet with SCSI Plexwriter 40/12/40S only
• While the system is running initial power-on diagnostics, insert the NT OS CD into the
bootable CD-ROM device.
• Wait for the system to boot.
NOTE This operation repartitions and formats the primary hard disk
drive; all information on the drive will be destroyed.
• A prompt will be displayed indicating that any information located on the primary hard
disk device will be destroyed.
• Respond to the prompt by pressing the F1 key on keyboard.
• After the reboot, a prompt will be displayed indicating that a secondary hard disk
device has been detected.
1. Continue Installation
(Second hard drive will not be formatted/partitioned)
2. Partition second hard drive and continue installation
(Caution: Remove all patient information and images from the system)
• Select "2"
The setup window is shown as below.
• When the file copy operation is completed, the computer will reboot.
• When prompted, remove the NT OS CD from the CD ROM drive.
For Celsius M410 grey cabinet with SCSI Plexwriter 40/12/40S only:
• When prompted, remove the O.S. VA21 CD-R-SCSI-Boot-Diskette from the Disk drive.
End of Celsius M410 grey cabinet with SCSI Plexwriter 40/12/40S only.

NOTE You must reinstall this patch if system software was reloaded.
NOTE The Security Patch does not work with Primergy 170. To protect the
system against viruses it is necessary to switch off the DCOM service
and close the appropriate port.
General Remarks 3
Before installing the Image System AXIOM Aristos application software ensure that the
computer name is unique if more than one PC is to be used on a network. Duplicate
names on a single Network "Workgroup" or "Domain" will prevent the application software
from operating properly.
NOTE The computer name is used to create the data base. Therefore, if
the NT OS CD was used to set up more than one computer on the
same network, the computer names, as well as the configured IP
addresses, must be changed.
If there are no special requirements from the customer site, the
Image System AXIOM Aristos PC Ident number should be used as
computer name, e.g. Radis01234.
For reinstallation, if at all possible, the same name as was used
for the original installation should be used.
NOTE The name of the PC can be changed only if it is not being added
to or is already part of an 'NT Network Domain'. If the PC is a
member of an 'NT Network Domain' a systems administrator for
the domain will be required to add the PC to the domain.
Installation 3
• Login to the system with the user name 'Customer' and the password 'customer'. This
is the user installed by the OS CD.
• Insert the Image System AXIOM Aristos Application CD into the drive.

• If no domain is used in the network, leave the "Domain" box blank.
• When prompted, select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" and select 'Finish'.

• Remove the CD from the drive.
NOTE When the system comes back up, there will be a long delay as all
of the databases and Syngo back ends come up. Allow all of the
databases and back ends to be initially created before proceed-
ing.
NOTE The first time Image System AXIOM Aristos is run, import of the
service patient images into the database causes a delay of
approximately 3 minutes. Wait for the prompt in the status bar
that states "5 Second start up delay" before proceeding.
After the successful system boot up, the message "NOT READY- NO PATIENT
SELECTED " is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
NOTE Only if required, install the Image System AXIOM Aristos patch
