Needles
US #5 double pointed needles.

Gauge
20 sts = 4” in stockinette stitch (or 4.5 sts = 1”)
Gauge is not crucial for this project, but keep in mind that fabric should be
tight, or the stuffing will show. Change needle size to achieve a nice firm
fabric.

Notions
Tapestry needle. Wool or poly stuffing.

Abbreviations
K= Knit; P=Purl; Kfb= Knit into front and back of stitch; M1= with left
needle, pick up bar between stitches from front to back, knit into the back of
this stitch; M1p: with left needle, pick up bar between stitches from back to Knit Acorn
front, purl into the front of this stitch; K2tog= knit 2 together; Sts= Stitches.

Acorn Continue knitting in the round.
Using preferred method cast, on 6 stitches. Round 6: Knit.
Round 7: (P1, M1p, p1) Around.
Round 1: Kfb in each stitch, dividing evenly onto 3 double pointed needles. (18sts)
(12 sts.) Round 8: Purl.
Knit 3 rounds. Round 9: (P1, m1p, p2) Around.
Round 5: (K1, m1, k2, m1, k1) 3 times. (18 sts) (24sts)
Round 6: Knit. Round 10: Purl.
Round 7: (K1, m1, k4, m1, k1) 3 times. (24 sts) Round 11: (P1, m1p, p3) Around.

Finishing
Stuff acorn with filling. Thread tapestry needle with the tail left at cast on. Insert needle through
the center of your icord stem and pull through to inside if cap. Leave
