Scope:
This procedure provides guidance for the
Preservation, Storage and Handling of Glass
Reinforced Plastic (GRP) pipes and Fittings.
Handling:
• Package Load:
Pipes 1400mm and smaller in diameter are
packaged as a unit. Packages may be handled using
a pair of slings as shown in (figure 2.1) Figure 2.3 (Lifting Pipe at Two Support Points)
• Handling Nested Pipes:
Nested group pipes refer to a method of
organizing and packing pipes in which smaller
pipes are placed inside larger once. Nested group
pipes are typically sorted and grouped based on
their size, with smaller pipes nested inside larger
ones to form groups. These pipes generally have
special packing and it require mutually
agreement between supplier and customer.
