Time: 3:30 PM Day Schedule: M-S Room Assignment: DM 208 MONDAY KINAADMAN, FRANZCENE GAELLE MENDEZ Class Code: 32F BSA-1 Journal Title: Recitation of Invictus and Cotabato Time Dear Mommy Wheng, 1. Last Saturday, the tense and nervousness was evident on everyone’s faces. 2. It was as if we were about to go to war to fight for our independence. 3. There was so much chaos going on but everybody seems to be focused on the same goal, and that is to have good performance during our poem recitation. 4. Others were reciting in unison and some are walking around while repeating the lines over and over again. 5. There were also a few who looked like mentally ill persons for leaning over the wall while reciting the poem with their eyes closed but most of them talked to the open air. 6. It was just so funny to look at everyone because how could a simple 4-paragraph poem could cause such havoc to these college students. 7. Although I was no different, I too, was talking to the window, reciting the poem again and again and would sometimes get mad for mispronouncing a word or I would forget a line. 8. We were all so determined to do good because we all wanted to have a perfect score of 200 points. 9. We can not mess this up that is why we were so focused. 10. My classmates were so engrossed with the poem when we noticed the door opened. 11. Everyone went haywire and panicked to get their things so they could line up according to their respective groups. 12. When everyone from the previous class got out, our teacher instructed us to come inside and prepare ourselves for the day. 13. He told us to pass our daily journals and our class attendance alphabetically. 14. I collected the papers and passed it to our teacher. 15. I thought we will start the recitation but I was dumbfounded when he told us that we will have the Celebrities of the Day first. 16. My group was the Celebrity Group and although we were prepared with our presentation, I, as the leader, couldn’t help but panic because I haven’t written my attendance for the Celebrities of the Day. 17. I also haven’t prepared my iPad so I had a bit of panic attack. 18. Thankfully my groupmates helped me with the preparation and everything. 19. After setting up our paraphernalia, we proceeded with our presentation. 20. We had a smooth presentation and after which we did our tenth grammar review. 21. When we finished the short quiz, we thanked everyone for their participation and our teacher took over. 22. He told us to pass our printed copy of the poem Invictus but unfortunately, our row was the last to pass. 23. It was a Last In, First Out type of recitation. 24. Just as I thought I could chill for a while waiting for my turn, our teacher called me. 25. I thought he just wanted to ask me something but to my surprise, he told me that I will be the first one to present. 26. Shock was an understatement. 27. My seatmates could see my frown and how I stood up shaking because I did not expect this. 28. And yet, before reciting, I tried to calm down in order to have a good projection. 29. I let out a deep breath and told myself that I can do this. 30. I looked at everyone and then I started speaking out loud. 31. I made sure to enunciate each word perfectly and to pause whenever needed. 32. I also glanced from side to side to have a sort of interaction with my audience. 33. After reciting, I was relieved because I did not make a single mistake. 34. I just hope that my teacher would give me a perfect score. 35. When everyone was done reciting the poem, our teacher gave us a few reminders before he dismissed us. 36. The following morning, I woke up late as usual but our family had plans of going out of town. 37. We decided to go to Cotabato City to have some family bonding and hopefully watch a movie in the mall. 38. We left around lunch time and decided to have our lunch at McDonald’s in Cotabato. 39. Upon entering the city, we saw improvements such as the newly added street lights. 40. The traffic was heavy and we couldn’t do anything but wait of the green light. 41. When we arrived in McDonald’s, we ordered the usual. 42. I ate a light meal because I was wearing a dress and I don’t want to look fat. 43. After eating, we went to City Mall to watch a movie but unfortunately the only movie available to watch is Insidious which is a horror film. 44. I can’t watch horror movies so I backed out. 45. You also couldn’t stand horror movies so we decided to go to another mall in hopes that they have other movies available. 46. We went to Alnor’s Mall which also offered the same movie so we decided to just go shopping. 47. There is also a new store in the said mall which is the EO which I was happy about because we no longer need to go to Davao to buy or change our lenses. 48. After walking around EO, we went up to the department store to buy Daddy some pants. 49. I went to the cosmetic session and saw that the local brand Dazzle Me have a small space in that area. 50. I bought two of their lippies and asked Daddy if he could pay for it to which he gladly agreed. 51. We also bought a big luggage that we can use for our one week vacation in Cebu City. 52. After paying for everything, we went down to the first floor to buy some clothing. 53. My sister bought a pink pair of pants in For Me while I bought a pair of shorts and pants in Regatta. 54. I also got myself a shirt from the same store. 55. When we were done shopping, we decided to go home because it was getting late and the sky is starting to get dark. 56. On our way home, I felt the tiredness eating me up so I decided to sleep. 57. It was a well spent weekend for me and I hope that we’ll have another day of family bonding soon. 58. When we got home, I arranged everything that I bought and cleaned the car. 59. After tidying up, I skipped dinner and then went to sleep early to prepare myself for the next day ahead.
