1. Poonam looked up. She saw many animals on the tree. Which animals can
you spot on the tree in the picture? Write down their names.

Ans: The animals that I can see on the tree are a Monkey, a Pigeon, a Squirrel, a
Crow, a Parrot, a Mynah, and a few Ants and Butterflies.

2. Which animals did Poonam see at the pond? Look at the picture and write
their names.

Ans: In the above picture, the animals Poonam saw in the pond are Goat, Buffaloes,
Frog, Tortoise, Egret, black and white Stilt.

3. You must have seen many animals too. Write which of them.

Ans: The following animals which:

Can fly: Birds that can fly are Sparrow, Pigeon, and Crow

Can crawl: Animals that can crawl are Snake, Earthworm and Snail

Can walk: Animals that can walk are Buffalo, Dog and Humans

Can hop: Animals that can hop are Grasshopper, Kangaroo and Frog

Have wings: Animals that have wings are Sparrow, Pigeon and Butterfly

Have feet: Animals that have feet are Hoarse, Goat and Cow

Have a tail: Animals that have tails Monkey, Cow and Buffalo

4. Here are some incomplete pictures of animals. Complete them and write their
names below.

The first picture is of a dog. The second picture is of a fish. The third picture is of a
cockroach.

5. Find my name in the crossword and put a circle around it. One example has
been given.

(i) Banana is what I love eating, I spend my time jumping and leaping.

(iii) I remain awake the whole night, and go to sleep in broad daylight.

Ans: I am an Owl.

(iv) Croak, croak, croak is my sound, in water or on land I am found.

Ans: I am a frog.

(v) I appear after rainfall, Have no feet so I crawl.

Ans: I am a snail.

(vi) Slow and steady is my pace, I always win when there is a race.

Ans: I am a Tortoise.

6. Spend some time under a tree. Observe the animals carefully. Name the
animals which can be seen

Ans: Some animals which can be seen:

On the branches: Animals on the branches that we can see are: Monkey, Sparrow,
and Parrot.

On the leaves: Animals that are found on the leaves of a plant or a tree can be Ants,
Grasshopper, and Silkworm.

On the trunk: Animals found on the trunk of trees are Ants and Termites.

On the ground: Animals that can be found on the ground are Snakes, Earthworms,
and Rats.

Around the tree: Animals that are found walking around the trees are goats, Buffalo,
and cows.

7. Now arrange these animals in the order of their size — smallest being the
first.

Ans: The animals named in the previous are arranged from smallest to largest size
as:

Termite, Ants, Earthworms, Silkworms, Grasshopper, Parrot, Sparrow, Rat, Snake,


Goat, Monkey.
