Leadership Academy
The School Leadership Academy provides a professional development platform to ensure

leaders in education continually meet new challenges with fresh insight and perspectives in
the VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) environment. The workshops are
designed to enhance the competencies of leaders in education to be educational visionaries,
instructional leaders, organizational leaders and even community builders. Through a
process of learning in authentic workplaces and diverse contexts, school leaders will address
a range of topics that are critical for their continual growth. These include Strategic Planning,
Transforming Learning Organisations, Curriculum Innovation and Action Management.
Leaders in education will be provided with opportunities to deepen their understanding of
professional, management and leadership issues as well as exposure to thought leadership
so that they can become catalysts of change and remain relevant in a fast-changing
educational landscape.
1. Curriculum Leader
Participants will appreciate the importance of curriculum leadership to provide clarity to

teaching and learning with a vision and related goals. They will understand how to develop
and empower future curriculum leaders as well as promote continuous improvement and
greater alignment in student learning outcomes. The key areas covered during the workshop
will include curriculum & content, pedagogy & instruction, and assessment & evaluation.
Participants will gain insights related to global issues and trends as they examine curriculum
innovations.

2. Transformational Leader
Through the examination of transformational and thought leadership, participants will

understand how to lead change and transform the organization to bring about school
improvements. To this end, participants will learn from best practices to set up systems and
processes with strategic intent related to action or project management and
implementation.

3. Network Leader
The role of school partners and how to forge and sustain strategic partnership with key
stakeholders like parents, alumni, community will be examined in this module. Participants
will also explore how to strengthen the education fraternity through different platforms like
Community of Practice, Professional Learning Communities and Support Groups.

At the end of the two-day workshop, the participants are expected to:
1. Identify latent beliefs about learning and people and recognise how these affect their
leadership, giving them credibility and impact;
2. Build up communications skills; and
3. Create a vision for their school that will take into account challenges and opportunities
while ensuring this is sustained through generative conversations and team building.
