In this dream, I found myself in an eerie, abandoned, and dilapidated mansion. The atmosphere
was heavy with a sense of foreboding, and the mansion seemed to stretch on endlessly,
with countless rooms and corridors that twisted and turned in disorienting ways. In one
room, I saw ghostly apparitions of people who appeared to be trapped in a never-ending
cycle of suffering and despair. In another room, I stumbled upon a decrepit nursery with
old toys and a sense of profound sadness that seemed to fill the air. I can't seem to
remember the rest, but I know I woke up confused and scared. According to Freud (2021),
Some dreams are considered a psychological phenomenon or a dream with meaning. But
dream didn’t feel like it had a meaning just maybe from random over thinking or the movie
I watched earlier that day. But this dream was reoccurring, with different locations or
different people every time. I would have this dream every other day for a week. According
to Sigmund Freud (n.a) Gestalt approach to dreams states “You are the maker of a dream...
Whatever you put in the dream must be what is in you.” This could mean my dreams could
be based on the movies I watch. When in your unconscious mind you know that some
thoughts aren't healthy, so the dreams produce the same message. According to Barber
(2022) ghost dreams could mean unfinished business. But each way of encountering the
ghost could have different meanings. If a ghost is attacking you, it could mean you feel a
sense of being overwhelmed with some things in life. Becoming a ghost means feeling
guilty or fearful. And being possessed by it could mean you're experiencing sleep paralysis.
I have mixed emotions about these interpretations because my dreams don't fall into either
category. Maybe it could be stress or just the movie I previously watched. I think the
dream wasn’t anything serious. Just some random nightmare and just overthinking then it is
leading into my dreams.
