One of the chapels under St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Mondragon, Northern Samar is St. Joseph Husband of Mary Chapel which is located in Brgy. Nenita. The said chapel was hereby notified to be a mission center in the near future. Recently, it is already in preparations under Fr. Mariel Santos, a Franciscan Missionary. Fr. Santos is slowly helping the church to adapt the activities and celebrations that are being done by a mission center. The lay ministers, with the guidance of Fr. Santos have then started their missions too for the future of their chapel.
Conducting mass for devotions of Sacred Heart of Jesus every first Friday of the month, Virgin of Fatima every first Saturday of the month and Immaculate Conception every Wednesday of the week, is one of the first religious activities initiated by Fr. Santos which started in the month of June, 2021. They also made schedules to held masses in the other chapels under the cluster of St. Joseph Husband of Mary Chapel namely The Holy Family Chapel in Brgy. Cablangan, St. Isidore in Brgy. Canawa and Brgy. Talolora, etc. The Lay ministers have doubled their time upon serving in their Chapel and other chapels. The choir as they sing to the Lord wholeheartedly, the lector as they joyfully read the gospels of God and the altar servers as they sincerely serve at the altar are willingly carrying out this mission. Although, the mission which is serving the neighbouring chapels is no longer new to them because they already have been doing this during these previous years, still this is quite different and touches their heart and be more inspired since committing to this mission allows them to move closer towards their dreams for their chapel.
Their mission will continue to be carried out until their chapel would finally adapt the different religious activities and celebrations and be ready enough to be the mission center under their parish. If then their chapel will finally be proclaimed as the mission center, their mission will still continue and will be bigger and wider in extent. Living the mission given to them have already been painted to their hearts and they are willing to face every challenge that will come through their way. As servants of the Lord, they are proud to say that committing to such kind of missions is a blessing. Thus, no rain and no rocky roads will make them stop doing good things and choosing God's will.
