PERSONAL STATEMENT
A versatile first-class Aerospace Engineering graduate currently studying an MSc in Astronautics and Space
Engineering at Cranfield University, with a keen interest towards space flight and rocket propulsion. Leadership,
management, and communication are skills that I boast excellent success in; developed through my time as Co-
President at CranSEDS and operating as an ROCC qualified Air Ground Controller. Gained relevant industry
experience in Hybrid Rocket Engine design through a SPIN Internship at Smallspark Space Systems in association
with the UK Space Agency. In depth knowledge of space propulsion systems, astrodynamics, and mission analysis
through university modules, as well as project management experience with a desire to produce exceptional results.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
• Included twice on the Dean’s List for the 2017/18 & 2018/19 academic years for performing at a consistently
excellent standard across all modules and graduated with some of the top marks amongst my cohort
• Awarded the UWE Enterprise Summer Scholarship and the Impact & Innovation Scholarship
• Completed the UAS Garden Relay, continuously running from RAF Lossiemouth to RAF Akrotiri and back,
raising over £20,000 for NHS Charities Together amidst the COVID-19 pandemic

CAREER HISTORY
Cranfield’s society for the exploration and development of space technologies, made up of talented students seeking
new aerospace engineering challenges whilst participating in competitions and conferences related to the space field
at a national and international level, whilst conducting outreach programmes to encourage STEM engagement.
• Overseeing the operations of UKSEDS National Rocketry Championship & European Rocketry Challenge,
as well as reviewing technical progress reports for the Olympus Rover Trial Competition
• Liaised with companies for potential sponsorships to acquire funding for the projects
• Coordinating and leading weekly meeting with upwards of 100 members
I was chosen to partake in a number of research studies where I played the role as an Air Traffic Controller relaying
standard phraseology and communications to the flight simulator pilots.
Asteria: Space & Satellites: The University of Edinburgh, UK - Orbital Engineer (October 2020 - Present)
Asteria are a student group at the University of Edinburgh dedicated to the development of Oracle 1; a 3U CubeSat
designed for remote sensing of the Earth using hyperspectral imaging which will be pursuing a scientific mission to
help track mosquito-borne diseases, incorporating the UN’s sustainable development goals.
• Working closely with the scientific research team to calculate the frequency and altitude of which the satellite
will pass over the ground station, determining the size of sensors and the equipment required for data relay
• Focused on modelling the trajectory of the satellite using various simulation software such as GMAT and
STK, incorporating vital mission and orbital requirements into the engineering design process
Smallspark Space Systems: Cardiff, UK - Rocket Engineering SPINtern (July 2020 - September 2020)
In association with the UK Space Agency and supported by Satellite Applications Catapult
Smallspark Space Systems are a UK based Aerospace and Artificial Intelligence (AAI) research company based in
Cardiff, working to push the boundaries in low-cost rocket propulsion systems
• Completed a Udemy qualification in OpenFOAM with specific application in fluid dynamics, turbulence
modelling and complex meshing for bespoke aerostructures and Hybrid Rocket Engine designs
• Collaborated on a SPRINT project exploring how lattice structures for solid fuel grains affect regression rates
• Investigated the effects of various injector designs by developing a method that computationally analysed
their performance for optimising the atomisation, combustion properties and mixing of the propellants
Royal Air Force (VR): RAF Colerne, UK - Bristol University Air Squadron (September 2018 - August 2020)
The University Air Squadron is a branch of the RAF Volunteer Reserves who deliver specialist leadership and team-
building exercises, volunteering opportunities, military flying and adventurous training.
• Developed Force Protection competencies and leadership skills within an arduous deployed training camp
in order to broaden military knowledge, teamwork, and followership attributes
• Selected to be Joint Head for Charity Events on the committee due to personal fundraising experiences, and
was awarded the University Air Squadron of the Year Award by the RAF Benevolent Fund
Herefordshire Aeroclub: Shobdon Aerodrome, UK - Air Ground Operator (May 2015 - August 2020)
The role of an Air Ground Operator is to deliver concise, accurate information and advice to pilots in order for them
to understand and visualise the traffic in the aerodrome vicinity.
• Coordinated and integrated landing/departing traffic and prioritise aircraft movements to ensure safety
• Implemented the ability to interpret specific phraseology & relay important information to pilots accurately
• Achieved my Radio Operators Certificate of Competence (ROCC) from the Civil Aviation Authority to operate
VHF radiotelephony equipment and exchange spoken messages in the aeronautical radio services
