before we begin...
MATERIALS

You don't need the full list of pencils to enjoy this tutorial but you

may find them useful. You can find the materials list in this book

along with my trusted suppliers, (I am not sponsored by any of

the mentioned companies or brands).

YOUR STUDIO

Struggling to find a place to draw? The kitchen table is perfect

for this tutorial, you won't need lots of space to create this

drawing and you don't need a fancy easel either!

VIDEOS OR WORKBOOK?

Both! These tutorials are designed to be done with the online

videos and the support of this workbook. Pause the video,

rewatch it and find the pencils for every step written down in

here, too.

RIGHTS TO THE IMAGES

You do not own the rights to any reference photos from these

that means you are unable to sell your

lessons. Please note,

work unless you buy the rights. If you would like to do this,
please contact me so I can link you to the correct image.

NOW, LET'S GET DRAWING, ENJOY!

get feedback
create, learn and connect

Just because you're doing an online class doesn't mean you can't get advise on your

painting. We have a community waiting for you to join and upload your work to! Find

the link on my website under 'Online Art Classes'.

WHAT SHOULD I UPLOAD?

Any pastel pencil work, don't worry if it's not one of my classes, I won't be offended!

As long as it's pastel pencil then pop it in the community and I'll get back to you.

IT ISN'T FINISHED BUT I'D LIKE SOME ADVISE...

That's ok! If you get stuck with a drawing then the community is the perfect place to

get a hand with it. Whether your drawing is finished or not even started, you can ask

a question or get some inspiration.

WHEN DO YOU GET FEEDBACK?

Officially, every Friday is the day you can get my feedback on your work. So, upload

the drawings whenever you like and check it every Friday for your tips and

comments from me.

CAN I GIVE SOMEONE ELSE FEEDBACK?

Of course! I find helping others to be one of the best ways to learn actually, so I

would encourage you to interact with other people's work. Just remember,

constructive comments are great but please don't be rude, remember everyone is

learning.
materials list
You can get all of these pencils from 'Paper Story Art Supplies'.

They are a small Norfolk business that I use and give great service! If you

don't have all of the pencils, don't panic, give it a go and get help in the

community with your drawing as it might be a little trickier without the

specific pencils.

help! how do i draw?!

The fastest way to get going with a good drawing is to transfer your

image onto the pastelmat. I go into detail about how to do this in one of

my YouTube videos:
