Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy Level(s): (Which level(s) will this lesson meet using this technology
tool?)

☐ Remembering ☐ Understanding ☐ Applying ☐ Analyzing ☐ Evaluating ☐ Creating

How will this lesson be implemented? Check all that apply. (Sometimes only one option will
apply.)

☐ Teacher-directed: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic for
presentation and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. Products of
learning will be uniquely designed. Teacher simply facilitates the learning in a lesson like this.

☐ Project-based and/or Publishable: Students are completing projects to demonstrate their learning

and the projects can be shared outside of the classroom. This objective could be reached by
displaying the project on the school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom
blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing it via an outside source.

Lesson idea implementation: Write a paragraph describing how the lesson will be
implemented using the prompts as your guide:
Students will use sway to create their own digital audio eBook based on a
prompt giving by the teacher. The tool that will be used Is sway the teacher will
introduce it through a writing lesson and then show the example of a digital
audio eBook created by the teacher. We will talk about what personification is
and how it is used in the example sway eBook. The purpose of this lesson is to
teach the students two things how to create writing based on a prompt giving
by the teacher and the idea of figurative language like personification because in
the example the markers are giving human like traits. Teacher will introduce the
tool sway to students with the example of her eBook. Feedback will be provided
as the students will first draft out their ideas and show their knowledge of
personification and then show it to the teacher before creating their own sway
digital eBook.

Managing the technology/engagement: Describe a way to use this technology in a way that
gets students actively involved in authentic tasks and contexts? How will you manage the
classroom behaviors on the technology:
I would have time limits set and offer specific goals for the Managing the
Technology piece. Co-engagement with the technology, collaboration, planning on
paper first, and ask 3 then me. I will also walk around class and look at each student.
computers to ensure they are staying on task and constantly remind them of the task
and learning goal. I also world have the students work in pairs so that way they are
using one device.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL): This can support all student needs because you can
add captions to support non-English speakers. All students are able to learn and use the
software. It fits into all 3 parts of UDL framework but specifically engagement because it
engages the students because it minimizes distractions and threats because it is something
fun and keeps the children engaged and hooked because they get to explore their creativity
side. It allows students to sustain effort and persistence.

Reflecting on enhanced learning: I feel this lesson will impact student learning because

instead of me just sitting up there and talking about the lesson goal and what I want my
students to learn from it they will get to explore and display their knowledge of the content
by creating and designing which allows students will be able to reach the higher end of
blooms digital taxonomy keeping them engaged and impacting their ability to learn by
creating digital content. The part of the lesson that I am most looking forward to is the part
where students get to create their own digital audio eBook using sway as a software tool. I
am most looking forward to it because I get to see my students use new tools and get
creative. I want to see where their mind can go and what stories they can come up with,
while also checking their knowledge to see if they understand the lesson goal and end goal.
