Lesson plan for substitute teachers

Activity 1 Student’s book p. 27, ex. 1 and 2.
Activity 2 - Ask students what routine activities they
remember.

- Ask ll students to pick a day of the week
and share their routine with the class.

Material Super Minds 2 – (Cambridge)
Warm-up activity Play ‘Bingo’:
Write different words from the vocabulary of units 4-5 on the board,
ask students to copy them and start saying them. Students start
crossing the ones they have out. When somebody has them all they
say ’bingo’ and win the game.
Hw to be checked Student’s book: p. 69.
Activity 1 Student’s book:
- P. 68, ex. 1-2.
- P. 69, ex. 1.
Activity 2 Play
Activity 3 Play ‘sit down’:
All students must be standing next to their seats.
Ask them to sit down under conditions like ‘sit
down if you have brown eyes’, ‘sit down if today
it’s Wednesday’, ‘sit down if you have English
class on Tuesdays’, etc. The ones who make
mistakes or the last one to sit after each question
is eliminated, until there’s a winner.
You can repeat it. Every time somebody wins give
them a ‘life’ they can use for the following game.

Warm-up activity Play ‘Bingo’:

Warm-up activity Write on the board verbs in infinitive from this or any other list:

grammar/past-simple-irregular-verbs. Ask students to say their
simple past form. Then write them down next to the infinitives so
students can copy. Meanwhile, ask them to use them in sentences.

Hw to be checked Student’s book: p. 115, read the grammar and start doing the
exercises.

Introduction:
- Ask students to describe the girl in the picture.
Listening:
- Ex. 1A, B, C, D, E.
Activity 2 Student’s book, p. 50
Grammar:
- Ex. 2A, B, C and go to p. 115. Explain the grammar, clarify any
doubts and correct homework if not done before.

Warm-up activity Go to this website, introduce the video and play it with subtitles in

were-a-car-which-would-you-be/. Then ask student to answer the
questions that are after it and to comment which car they would be.
Hw to be checked Student’s book:
- Writing, ex. 5, p. 101.
- Read the exam tips on p. 102-103.
Activity 1 Student’s book, p. 107:
- Listening, do all parts.
- Grammar, ask students if they recognise the new structure to
see what they remember. Then play the grammar on the
move video, clarify on the board if necessary and go to the
grammar reference on p. 220. Explain the topic and do the
practice exercises there.
Activity 2 Student’s book, p. 108:
- Vocabulary: do as many exercises as possible.
