General Rules
A Technovate ID will be issued to all participants after
successfully completing registration process (will be provided
on entry to the institute campus).
All the participants are required to carry their Technovate IDs
issued to them, at all times for the entire course of
Technovate 2024.
Please note that entry inside theCampus premises and
relevant activities shall be denied without the ID card.
All information/communication related to Technovate 2024
shall be routed through the Participant (Individual Events) or
to the Team Leaders only (Team Events). The Team Leader
shall be responsible and be held accountable for the conduct
of all the teammates during the course of the fest.
The participating teams/individuals must bring their own
items and accessories as per requirements of their respective
events or as intimidated by the event coordinator..
All participating members must observe the code of conduct
and regulations of IIIT while inside the university premises.
In case of disputes of any kind, the decision of the
Technovate 2024 Organizing Committee shall be final and
binding.
Please note that participation in Technovate 2024 will be
confirmed solely upon the payment of participation fee for
the event or Pro-night.
No refund of the registration fee shall be made in case any
participant wishes to opt-out of fest after registration.
Rules for Registration
Formal registration of the participating teams/individuals
shall take place at the registration desk at institute gate.
The participants must carry with them two passport size
photographs for the registration process of Technovate 2024.
For the purpose of verification, the participants must bring
their University/ Institute/College ID cards along with a valid
Proof of Identity (Aadhar, Driving License, PAN, etc.)
The details of every event, including individual/team
registration amount and other information will be provided
in Brochure and event directory.
In case of technical events, all participants need to be from a
school/college i.e. they need to be students, no professionals
are allowed to participate.
All the rules mentioned in the event directory has to be
strictly followed and complied with.
The Registration Form shall be circulated in a couple of days.
Payment link and account details for individual and team
registration shall be shared once the registration form has
been submitted.
On-spot registration will be permitted, subject to availability.
In case of disputes of any kind, the decision of the
Technovate 2024 Organizing Committee shall be final and
binding.
BATTLE OF
BANDS
Rules
The band should contain 4-8 members.
Participation through various teams is not allowed.
The theme, song selection, and performances of all kinds are
welcome.
Language- English, Hindi or both
Team performing in round 2 should comprise the same
members as that of round 1.
Duration for round 1 (for each team)is 3-5 mins
The duration for round 2(for each team) is 10-15 mins.
The performance of each band should consist of at least 4
songs in the final round.
Details of round 2 will be disclosed after the announcement
of round 1 results.
All Participants should be present 30 minutes before the
Event, else a walkover will be given.
The decision of the judge will be final.
Each team must carry their own instruments, instrument
stands, and amplifiers (Drums will be provided by us).
Backing tracks and programmed music will NOT be allowed
Participants should carry their ID for verification if required.
Rules
The song of the participant should be submitted before the
opening ceremony.
Participants must follow the guidelines given by the
organizing team.
The organizing team reserves the right to make any last-
minute changes.
Marks will be deducted for exceeding the time limit.
Misconduct and foul behavior with the organizing team will
not be tolerated (participants can also be disqualified)
Participation Certificates for all the participants of round 2.
Details
Register for the Battle of Bands Online Round through
Unstop. The registered teams/participant will have to submit
a musical performance video via Google forms and based on
that selection is done.The video’s duration will be 2 to 3
minutes.

SOLO AND DUET
MUSIC
PERFORMANCES
Rules
Karaoke is not allowed.
Participants must bring their respective instruments.
Participation through various teams is not allowed.
The theme, song selection, and performances of all kinds are
welcome. It can be a movie song, a folk song, or their own
composition.
Language- Hindi, English, or regional
Duration - 2-3 minutes
The participants will be notified through a bell at 2.5 minutes
so that they can wrap up their performance
Any performance exceeding 3 minutes mark will be
disqualified immediately.
All participants should be present 30 minutes before the
event, else a walkover will be given.
The decision of the judge will be final.
Participants should carry their id for verification if required.
The song of the participant should be submitted before the
opening ceremony.
Participants must follow the guidelines given by the
organizing team.
For both solo and duet performances the same rules apply
and the time limit for both is 2-3 minutes.

ORATOR’S
CONCLAVE
Rules
Orator’s Conclave
Teams can consist of a minimum of 2 members and
amaximum of 3 members.
Each team member has a specific role:
One member participates in a Speech Competition.
Another member participates in the Round Table Conference.
The third member engages in a Debate.
In the case of a two-member team, one member can choose
to participate in any of the two competitions.
All team members must participate in at least one
competition.
Rules
Speech Competition
Participants are tasked with delivering speeches on general
topics. Topics like social media, education etc.
The topic for each speech will be given on the spot.
Topics will be assigned to participants through a chit system.
Participants will be given 1 minute to contemplate their
speech after receiving the assigned topic.
The time limit for each speech is 2 minutes .A buzzer will
sound at 1.5 minutes to indicate that there are 30 seconds
remaining.
Participants may choose to deliver their speech in either
English or Hindi.
Switching of language during the speech is not allowed. The
use of foul language is strictly prohibited.
Speech will be judged on the basis of presentation , content
and fluency.
Expression: Clarity and effectiveness in conveying ideas.
Argumentation: Soundness of arguments and reasoning.
Delivery Style: Quality and style of speech delivery.
Persuasive Impact: Ability to convincingly influence and
engage the audience.
Rules
Round Table Conference
Participants will be sitting together and each participant will
have to propose a solution based approach or policy to solve
any problem related to the assigned topic followed by a
discussion among others.
Topics will be assigned to participants through a chit system.
For example, a topic could be waste management, where
participants assume the role of mayors and focus on
revenue-oriented policies.
Each participant will act as the mayor of a city, presenting
policies for the given topic.
The other participants are encouraged to raise questions and
concerns over the policies being presented.
The participants making the policies will have to answer the
questions and address the concerns properly.
The judging will be done on the basis of oration skills,
presentation skills and content skills.
The student will be given 1 minute to think about the policies.
The time limit will be 2 minutes and a buzzer will be at 1.5
minutes.
Rules
Round Table Conference
Language can either be English or Hindi, switching of
language is not allowed and use of foul language is not
allowed.
Participants presenting policies will be judged on:
The logical coherence of the policies.
The logical and thoughtful nature of the questions raised.
The clarity and effectiveness of their responses to questions
and concerns.
Participants will be evaluated based on oration skills,
presentation skills, content skills, as well as the logical
coherence of the policies, questions, and answers.

Debate on Political issues
Participants will engage in a structured debate on political
issues.
The order of debates, specific topics, and debating pairs will
be decided through a chit system.
Participants will be given 2 minutes to prepare for the debate
after receiving the assigned topic.
The debate will begin with a 1-minute opening speech for
each participant.
Rebuttals will follow the opening speeches of both
participants in a pair.
Debates will be judged on the basis of:
Articulation: Clarity and effectiveness in expressing ideas.
Logic: Soundness of arguments and reasoning.
Delivery: Quality and style of speech delivery.
Persuasiveness: Ability to convince and influence the
audience.
Adherence to Rules: Compliance with debate format and time
constraints.
Details
Every competition has the same total points available, and
the winning team is decided based on how well the entire
team performs together, rather than individual achievements.

The event will not include any selection round; however,
online registration will be closed once the total number of
registered teams reaches 15.
In the event of a lower-than-expected turnout, even after the

Sketching Event
Event Name: SketchQuest
Themes:
1. Multiverse : The multiverse involves capturing the essence
of diverse and parallel realities through the strokes of an
artist. The artwork should mainly focus on the convergence
of different universes and realities.
2. Superheros : Sketching superheroes is an expressive art
form that goes beyond mere representation, aiming to
capture the spirit and iconic nature of the beloved
characters.
3. Sci-Fi depiction of time : The artist endeavors to translate
complex ideas related to time travel and the manipulation of
temporal dimensions into a visually compelling
representation.
4. Retro-Futurism : Retro-futurism involves a thoughtful blend
of past and future aesthetics, creating a visually captivating
scene that resonates with the nostalgia of yesteryears'
dreams of what the future might hold.
Rules
Sketching Event
The online sketching event will be organized and managed
by the Indradhanush Instagram account
(@indradhanush_iiitnr) via online mode.
The event will have a specific theme, and participants are
required to create sketches that align with the designated
theme.
Sketch submissions must be in a digital format compatible
with the specified platform.Participants are responsible for
ensuring the clarity and quality of their digital submissions.
Each participant is allowed to submit only one
response.Submissions are only allowed through the given
Google form.
All sketches must be submitted within the designated time
frame. Late submissions may not be considered.
Participants are only allowed to use black pens or pencils;
colors and paints are not allowed.
Sketches must be original works created by the participant.
Plagiarism or copying other participants' work is strictly
prohibited.
A panel of judges will evaluate sketches based on creativity,
interpretation of the theme, technique, and overall artistic
expression.

Sketching Event
A portion of the participants' score will be determined by the
event organizers, and another portion will be based on their
social media popularity.
Participants are encouraged to use event-specific hashtags if
they wish to share their sketches on their social media
handles.
Editing the picture or the usage of AI tools is not allowed.
The usage of fake accounts to mislead the participants' score
is prohibited.
Prize collection is available both via online or offline mode.
The event organizers reserve the right to make decisions or
address unforeseen circumstances not explicitly covered in
these rules and the changes will be notified to the registered
participants through Email/call/SMS.
Violation of any rules will result in disqualification from the
event.
By participating in the SketchQuest, participants agree to
comply with and abide by these rules.

Canvas Painting Event
Event Name: Canvas Chronicles
Only SOLO participation will be allowed for the event.
Canvas will be available on the day of the event. (Size of
Canvas - A2 )
Participants are expected to bring their own paints, brushes,
and other necessary materials.
The time limit will be 2 hours and 30 minutes.
The event will have a specific theme, participants are
required to adhere to the theme in their artwork.
The theme will be revealed on the spot.
Plagiarism or copying other participants' work is strictly
prohibited.Participants are responsible for cleaning their
workspace after completing their artwork.
A panel of judges will evaluate the artwork based on
creativity, adherence to the theme, technique, and overall
artistic expression.
The decision of the judges is final.
Any disruptive behavior may lead to disqualification.
The event organizers are not responsible for any loss, theft,
or damage to participants' personal belongings.
Rules
Canvas Painting Event
The event organizers reserve the right to make changes to the
rules and regulations if necessary and the changes will be
notified to the registered participants through mail/call/SMS.
Violation of any rules may result in disqualification from the
event.
By participating in the CanvasChronicles, participants agree to
abide by these rules and regulations.

Rules
ROUND 1- PRELIMINARY
Event Name: FIDUCIA
Theme (Urban Dreamscape) - - Any Western wear outfits.
Examples - gowns, skirts, jeans, tops, midi, etc. for women and
tuxedos, shirts, t-shirts, jeans, or any other forms of western wear
for men.
It will be a solo walk.
The time limit for each participant will be 1 minute.
Props will be allowed for this round.
Participants should bring their own apparel, makeup and any
other stuff.
Judging criteria will be based on the Outfit, confidence, and
grace of the Walk.
A total of 8 girls & 8 boys will be shortlisted for the finale.

ROUND 2- FINALE
Event Name: FIDUCIA
Theme (Desi stride) - - Any ethnic wear or traditional outfit of any
particular state of India. Examples- sarees, lehengas, suits, kurtis,
etc for women, and kurta pajamas, sherwani, or any other form of
ethnic wear for men.
It will be a solo walk.
The time limit for each participant will be 3 minutes.
Props will be allowed for this round.
Participants should bring their own apparel, makeup, and any
other stuff.
Judging criteria will be based on the outfit, confidence, the
grace of the walk, and their personality and confidence.
There will be 2 winners and 4 runners-up.

Important Notes
The age of participants in "Fiducia" must be between 17 to 25
years old. Our team may ask you to prove your age.
Any incorrect information will lead to immediate
disqualification, irrespective of being discovered prior to,
during, or after participation.
The decision of the judges will be final and binding. The
organising committee reserves the right to make any last-
minute change in the rules.
The rules are subject to change due to various factors, and
the changes will be notified to the registered participants
through mail/call/SMS.
Details
Vulgarity of any kind would lead to disqualification of the
team from the event. Hence, if the team feels that any
costume design can be considered vulgar, it is strongly
advised to consult the organisers before displaying it on
stage. The decision of the organizers will be final in case of
any disputes arising due to this.

Eligibility:
Open to all students.
Participants must have access to a digital camera or
smartphone for image capture.
Theme:

All submitted photos should align with this theme.
Submission Guidelines:
Each participant can submit a maximum of 2 photographs.
Images must be submitted digitally through the Unstop
submission portal.
Ensure that submitted images adhere to the specified format
and resolution requirements.

Image Editing:
Basic editing is allowed (cropping, color correction, etc.).
Heavy manipulations that alter the original scene are not

Rules
Participants are not allowed to be on multiple teams.
The participants need to make sure that the song they are
performing is appropriate.
The dance style, its origin can be of any style, every style is
encouraged.( Every performance is judged collectively).
The theme, song selection, and performances of all kinds are
welcome.
The song lyrics must not contain vulgar language.
Duration : solo and duet - 2-3 minutes, group - 3-4 min
Participants must follow the guidelines given by the
organizing team.
Any performance exceeding 3 minutes mark in solo and duet
and 4 minutes mark in group will be disqualified immediately
All participants should be present 30 minutes before the
event, else a walkover will be given.
The decision of the judge will be final
Participants should carry their id for verification if required
The song of the participant should be submitted before the
opening ceremony.

For both events, the same rules apply and the time limit for
both is 2-3 minutes.

CONTEST
Rules
Event name - Loknatya
Topics: Any topic of social relevance will be accepted as long
as it follows all the below mentioned rules.
Teams will act on the basketball court.
Registration will be accepted online through the website
prior to the event. On spot registrations will also be allowed.
A team may include 6-12 members, excluding two
instrumentalists.(Optional)
There will be a 15-minute time restriction; teams exceeding
the time limit will be penalized by negative marking.
Song recordings are not permitted.
It is not permitted to use fire, water, or smoke.
Each team should provide its own props and take ownership
of them. After the performance, players have the allotted
time to remove any props that were utilized.
Any occurrence of offensive language or upsetting material
of any kind will result in a firm stop to the performance and
instant disqualification.
Live music only is permitted. Groups will need to provide
their own musical equipment.
English, Hindi, or both should be the only languages used in
street play.

Banners and posters are allowed.
No electronic instruments will be allowed.
