Preface
First of all, thank God for the presence of Allah SWT because with the
help of Allah SWT we can finish writing a paper entitled "Tenses 1" at
the time that has been calculated.
The purpose of writing this paper is to fulfill the assignment given by
Ms. Rosmiaty Pammu, S.Pd., M.Pd as a lecturer.
In compiling this paper, we did encounter many challenges and
obstacles, but with the help of various parties, these obstacles were
overcome. We also realize that there are still many mistakes in the
process of writing this paper.
We realize that this paper is still not perfect both in structure and
content. then we hope that criticism from readers can help us in
improving the next paper. Lastly, I hope this paper can help readers to
increase their knowledge about tenses.

INTRODUCTION
A. Background
English is the international language. By mastering English
well, we will be able to communicate with other languages in this
world. Besides that, we can also add to our insights and knowledge
for the betterment of our nation and country, because we can read
English literature, listen to foreign radio broadcasts, and watch
other scientific films. Thus, we can eventually master knowledge
from all fields.
In addition to increasing understanding of international
languages, by learning English this will at least make it easier for
us to get a decent job, or for our provision in the future. Studying
an international language properly and correctly, of course, has
very good benefits for all of us.
For this reason, it is necessary to understand the grammar in
English first. In addition to facilitating pronunciation, we will also
understand how to arrange the words to be spoken so that they
become one coherent and correct sentence according to tenses.

C. Future Tense
1. Definition of future tense
Tenses are a form of a sentence to describe an event from
a predicate with time. To describe future events, English
speakers use the Future Tense. So that the Future Tense is used
in sentences relating to an event in the future.
2. Types of Future Tense
In its use, the Future Tense is divided into four types.
a) Simple Future Tense
The Simple Future Tense is used to express an event that
will occur in the future. namely be in the form subject +
will/shall+V1+object.
Adverbs of time that are often used, namely:
tomorrow = tomorrow
the day after tomorrow = the day after tomorrow
next week = next week
next month = next month
next year = next year
b) Future Continuous Tense
Future Continuous Tense is used to express an event that
will occur or be carried out at a certain time in the future
namely be in the form subject+will/shall+be+verb ing.
Adverbs of time are used.
for example:
at 3 p.m tomorrow = at 3 pm tomorrow
Example of sentences:
(+) She will be dining here at 9 p.m tomorrow
(-) She won't be dining here at 9 p.m tomorrow
(?) Will she be dining here at 9 p.m tomorrow? (Will he
have dinner here at 9 tomorrow?)
c) Future Perfect Tense
Future Perfect tense is used to express an event that will be
completed in the future namely be in the form subject+will
have/shall have+V3+object.
Adverbs of time that are often used, usually:
by this time next year = at this time next year
by the end of this year = at the end of this year

(+) I will have written a novel by the time I reach 30
(-) I won't have written a novel by the time I reached 30
(?) Will you have written a novel by the time you reach 30?
d) Future Perfect Continuous Tense
Future Perfect Continuous Tense is used to express an
action or event that has been going on for some time when
another event occurs, in the future namely be in the form
subject+will have been/shall have been+Verb-ing+object.
Adverb of time used, usually:
by this time = at this hour
Example sentences:
(+) She will have been married for 3 years by the time I
come home
(-) She will not have been married for 3 years by the time I
come home
(?) Will she have been married for 3 years by the time I
come home? (will he be married for 3 years when I come
back?)
E. Future To Be Going To
1. Definition to be going to
"To be going" usually refers to the state of preparing to
leave a place or taking a journey. It indicates that someone is
getting ready to depart or is in the process of leaving.
2. Pattern Future To Be Going To
The phrase "to be going" doesn't really have a specific
formula or pattern, as it's a grammatical construct in English.
It's formed using the present continuous tense of the verb "to
go," which is "going."
For example:
1. I am going to the store.
2. She is going to the party.
3. They are going on vacation.
