Brainy kl5 Tests Introduction
All tests
have been written both in A and B versions and they have been prepared in PDF format. The B
version has the same type of exercises as the A version but the items are slightly different.
The Unit Tests, Progress Tests and the Final Test are also available in C version. This version is
on the same level as A and B, but was specially adapted and carefully designed for students with
difficulties in reading and writing to help them perform the tasks more easily. Differences in the
content and layout of the tests:
Note that the same audio recording is used for A, B and C versions of the tests.
It is important to remember that dyslexic students are not all the same. Some of them will be
capable of completing A or B test versions but might need more help with the reading or writing
tasks or you might need to give them more time to complete their tests.
As students with dyslexia might suffer from low self-esteem and lack of motivation, the main task
of the teacher should be to boost their confidence and positive attitude. This can be done by being
optimistic, providing positive feedback and giving the opportunity to succeed.
It is the teacher who knows students’ strengths and weaknesses and who can help them by
individualizing and personalizing tasks. That is why along with the C version of the tests aimed
for students with learning difficulties, Brainy klasa 5. also offers some practical tips for teachers
how to help such students (to be found in Teaching Notes) and Extra support worksheets which
are a part of Teacher’s Resource File (available online).
