1.0 Introduction
AA101 students refers to the course code of Diploma in Accounting students in KPTM
Bangi. In this report, AA101 students has become the main target of the investigation where
we find out whether these students have a good time management among them and how
they use their time effectively as well as whether they tend to have a mental health issues
due to a poor time management. Students are an example of individuals that need to have a
good and an effective time management as they are always busy with work assessments.
KPTM Bangi stands for Kolej Poly-Tech Mara, a private higher educational institution
owned by the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA). KPTM has a total of 7 branches and 1 College
University around Malaysia consist of KPTM Kuantan, KPTM Kota Bharu, KPTM Batu Pahat,
KPTM Alor Setar, KPTM Ipoh, KPTM Bangi and last but not least KUPTM or UPTM located at
Cheras. In this case, we are required to write a report for KPTM students located in Bandar
Baru Bangi, Selangor. KPTM offers a wide range of education opportunities in the field of
information technology, computer science, accounting, business management, sciences,
engineering and health sciences.
For most of the people that are facing difficulty in managing their own time, there
must be a few factors as to why this is happening and they may or may not realize what
they did wrong in planning what they are going to do either in a day, week or even in a
month especially among students. For instance, students procrastinating everytime doing
assessment or task given. Procrastination is a major sign of poor time management,
students always procrastinate by putting of tasks in favor of less important. This could lead
to having work done at the last minutes. Other than that, some students also having a hard
time determine their priorities and not having clear goals. These could lead to students
multitasking as they do not know what to be done first and how they are going to do them
properly. Lastly, students not having a proper and effective time schedule of their own or
maybe does not even have a schedule or planner and do things impromptuly.
There are certainly consequences of having a poor time management especially for
students. It could effect them in many ways and one of them being the quality of work done
are poor and dissastisfied by the lecturers. Work done at the last minute usually rush
students to complete their work quickly without having them thinking about the little details
of the work done. Next, physical and mental health of the individuals could also be effected.
This is because having a poor time management confirms that students do not have a fixed
time schedule especially sleeping schedule. Not having enough sleep could lead to being
stress and anxious easily. Students will also have trouble controlling your emotions and
behavior. Physically, it may also cause an individuals to getting sick more often as they
always feel tired.
