Freeform Comments: Students this trimester began with a brief introduction to theatre history. Following that, we spent time in class looking at vocal and
physical exercises. Students created their own pantomime scenario to learn how to express story and emotion without the voice.
From there, students moved onto creating characters based on their own personal and shared experiences and they are currently
writing monologues as those characters to perform.

Freeform Comments: This trimester in Honors Biology we explored the characteristics and chemistry that makeup living things, the properties of water
and macromolecules. The students applied the scientific method in a variety of laboratories in which they tested the optimal
amount of water for seed growth, how buffers neutralize pH, the properties of water, and the effect of temperature and pH on
enzymes.

Freeform Comments: We started the year off by reading a few shorter stories before starting Anthem by Ayn Rand. While reading, we worked with
characterization, tone, mood, POV, conflicts and analyzing. There have been projects as well as tests to gauge the students'
understanding of materials. The trimester ended with the first constructive response which prepares students for the Keystones.
During flex, students worked independently on Study Island. Excited to see their writing skills as we begin working on the
argumentative essays in Trimester 2!

prehistoric societies and early civilizations. Students developed primary source analysis skills and historical writing skills The study
of India, China, Greece, and Rome during the classical era will dominate our trimester two work.

Freeform Comments: During the first trimester In Life Fitness class we focused on learning a total body workout using the selectorized equipment, free
weights, and kettlebells, We also introduced the proper technique of bench press and Squats. Our fitness assessments included
FitnessGram testing and a 1 mile run. The testing allows us to assess our level of fitness and set personal health and wellness
goals. We begin each class with cardiovascular and mobility exercises. We have been focusing on and will continue to learn the
proper form for Squats, Bench press, hinging, deadlift, lunging, and power cleans. The students will continue to explore a variety of
ways to stay active and healthy throughout the year. --
