LIMITED FISHERMEN’S BEND | FRIDAY, 8th MAY, 1964 | a | LEAVING TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE The introduction this year of the Leaving Tech- nical Certificate in Victorian technical schools will have an impact on our apprenticeship training pattern In recent years our apprentice selection standard has centred around the Intermediate Technical Certificate, balanced by a srowing number of Leaving Certificates and a reducing number of Junior Technical Certificates. The introduction of the L.T.C, will mean that the average educational standard of applicants will rise, and in the next few years our selection stan- dard will centre around this certificate and the intermediate. The avera, age of commencing apprentices will rise, and a growing number will be eligible for a shorter apprenticeship option. Many apprentices will complete their trade schooling early in theit training, and more boys will take technician courses in place of the standard trade school As boys with higher qualifications and more maturity become available, places in the Ap- prentice Development Plan, already keenly sought after, will become even more competitive Mme Tour of the Plant and a Display featuring Apprentice Craftsmanship Social Centre Welcome to Guests Mr. F.
