SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MATH

Grade 2
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students must able to:
a.) Group numbers by one’s, ten’s, and hundreds
b.) Identify the place value and give the value of a digit in the three-digit
numbers.
c.) Apply addition of whole numbers from 1-1000
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Recognize the place value of a number, addition of whole numbers.
Instructional Materials: Video presentation, Flashcards, Blackboard and chalk,
pieces of paper
References: Mathematics Grade 2 Textbook

III. Procedure
A.) Preparatory Activities
Greetings
Prayer
Checking of Attendance
B.) Motivation
Show an interesting video about the given topic (https://youtu.be/2ksY7-
qLmd0?feature=shared).
C.) Lesson Proper
a.) Activity (Group)
The teacher will divide the class into three according to their row.
Then, the teacher will give a 3 digit numbers each group to be solved
using addition, and the students will be given 10 minutes to solve the
given numbers. And each group must have 1 representative to present
their work.

b.) Analysis
The teacher will gather the work of the students and she will check if
each group got the correct answer.
c.) Abstraction
The teacher will introduce the topic of the day, which is recognizing the
place value of a number and addition of whole numbers. The teacher
will use flashcards to show some examples and utilize the blackboard
and chalk for further explanations.
d.) Since the teacher is done discussing on how to recognize the place
value of a number, addition of whole numbers. The teacher will
conduct a short quiz. And instruct the students to submit their work,
when they are done.
