Sweater
Back
Ribbing
Cast on 45 (47, 51, 57, 61, 65) sts and knit ribbing, like this:
1st row, wrong side: p1, *k1, p1*, repeat from * - * across.
2nd row, right side: k1, *p1, k1*, repeat from * - * across.
Repeat these 2 rows until the ribbing measures approx. 2” (5 cm). Finish with a wrong side
row.

Body
Continue in stockinette st and inc. 1 st, like this: K1, pick up the chain between the sts and
knit through back loop (1 inc) = 46 (48, 52, 58, 62, 66) sts.
Knit straight up until the work measures approx. 19½” (20”, 20½”, 21”, 21”, 21.6”) or 50
(51,52, 53, 53, 55) cm. Finish on a wrong side row.
Cast off all sts.

Front
Cast on 45 (47, 51, 57, 61, 65) sts and knit ribbing, like this:
1st row, wrong side: p1, *k1, p1*, repeat from * - * across.
2nd row, right side: k1, *p1, k1*, repeat from * - * across.
Repeat these 2 rows until the ribbing measures approx. 2” (5 cm). Finish with a wrong side
row.

NB A cable is knit in the middle of the front. The cable is knit over 9 sts with 2 purl sts on
each side.

Body
Continue in stockinette st and separation for cable and inc 4 sts, like this:
Right side: k1, inc 1 st, k19 (20, 22, 25, 27, 29), 1 inc, k5, 1 inc, k19 (20, 22, 25, 27, 29), 1
inc, k1 = 49 (51, 55, 61, 65, 69) sts.
Wrong side: p
Right: k18 (19, 21, 24, 26, 28), p2, k9, p2, k18 (19, 21, 24, 26, 28). Wrong side: Knit what
the sts show.
Repeat the last 2 rows.

1st row, right side: k18 (19, 21, 24, 26, 28), p2, place 3 sts on a cable stitch holder in front
of the work, k3, knit the 3 sts on the cable stitch holder, k3, p2, k18 (19, 21, 24, 26, 28).
Knit 5 rows of what the sts show.
7th row, right side: k18 (19, 21, 24, 26, 28), p2, k3, place 3 sts on cable stitch holder
behind the work, k3, knit the 3 sts on the cable stitch holder, p2, k18 (19, 21, 24, 26, 28).
Knit 5 rows of what the sts show.
Repeat these 12 rows until the work measures approx. 16½”-17.3” or 42-44 cm. Finish 3
rows after a cable.

Neck line, left side


Right side: k18 (19, 21, 23, 26, 28), turn and let the remaining sts rest.
Wrong side: Purl.
Right side: Knit until there is 2 sts left, k2tog tbl.
Wrong side: Purl.
Repeat the last 2 rows until there is 16 (17, 19, 21, 23, 24) sts left.
Knit straight up until the work measures approx. 20½” (20½”, 21”, 21”, 211/4”, 211/4”) or 52
(52, 53, 53, 54, 54) cm.

Neck line, right side


Place 13 sts on a stitch holder (the center sts on the whole front).
Right side: Knit.
Wrong side: Purl.
Right side: K2tog, k remaining sts.
Wrong side: Purl.
Repeat the last 2 rows until there is 16 (17, 19, 21, 23, 24) sts left.
Knit straight up until the work measures approx. 20½” (20½”, 21”, 21”, 211/4”, 211/4”) or 52
(52, 53, 53, 54, 54) cm.

Sleeves
Ribbing
Cast on 23 (23, 25, 25, 27, 27) sts and knit ribbing, like this:
1st row, wrong side: p1, *k1, p1*, repeat from * - * across.
2nd row, right side: k1, *p1, k1*, repeat from * - * across.
Repeat these 2 rows until the ribbing measures approx. 2” or 5 cm. Finish with a wrong side
row.

Sleeve
NB The sleeves are knit in stockinette st with increases on each side.

Start increases
Right side: k1, inc 1 st (pick up chain between the sts and knit through back loop), knit until
you have 1 st left, inc 1 st, k1 = 2 sts increased.
Increase on every 6th row until you have 41 (43, 45, 45, 47, 49) sts.
Knit straight up until the work measures approx. 18½” or 47 cm. Finish with a wrong side
row.

Sleeve cap
Cast off 4 sts in the beginning of the next 6 rows = 17 (19, 21, 21, 23, 35) sts.
Cast of all sts..
Knit the other sleeve just the same.

Assembling
Sew up the shoulder seams.
Sew the sleeves on to the sweater. Sew up sleeve- and side seams.

Collar
Pick up sts around the neckline using a circular needle from the right side. Start by the left
shoulder.
Knit in the round on the circular needle.
The collar is knit in ribbing: k1, p1.

NB On the first round you knit together 2 x 2 sts over the cable on 9 sts.

1st round: knit ribbing, while knitting sts together in ribbing over the cable, knit ribbing
around = 46 sts.
Knit straight up until the collar measures approx. 5½” or 14 cm.
Cast off very loosely or use a stretchy bind off.
