The related literature includes relevant studies carried out by various researchers that
technology. Therefore, scientists are developing straightforward machinery to help the network
or cleaning personnel polish floors. Utilizing a well-known element, specifically the Arduino
Uno as the microcontroller and a DC (direct current) motor as the power source, is done so
because using electronically controlled equipment is more comfortable. Then, using an ultrasonic
sensor, a robotic device for automated ground cleaning was created. This technology could
provide an opportunity to help the general public or cleaners with normal floor maintenance
(Shaik 2021).
Another study from Win and Kyaw (2018), they invented vacuum cleaner as an
electromechanical device featuring IR (infrared) and ultrasonic sensors. A pair of IR sensors are
used to detect the surface beneath the robot, and an ultrasonic sensor is used to detect obstacles
in front of the robot. These sensors are mounted to the left and right sides of the robot to prevent
it from falling over while it is in operation. Using a pair of IR sensors and the surface detector
Rathee et. al. (2020) stated that a smart floor cleaner is a piece of technology that uses
Arduino-based technology and is intelligently programmed to clean a certain area. Wet and dry
mopping, vacuuming, obstacle recognition, security cameras, and UV sterilization are a few
characteristics found in smart floor cleaners. Furthermore, they added that embedded technology
was used in the creation of the intelligent floor-cleaning robot powered by Arduino. In order to
communicate wirelessly with the robot using an Android application, Bluetooth is used.
The goal of this proposed project study is to create an innovative design of vacuum
cleaner robot in order to make the lives of the people in the community more efficient. The
proposed project study is a simple robotic Vacuum Cleaner that is embedded with a sensor to
avoid obstacles intelligently while vacuuming the floor simultaneously, using Arduino. The
project study is enacted to help your home to become clean and tidy with lesser effort. This
project study is incited from a project report entitled “Smart Vacuum Cleaner” (Ananya et. al.
2020).
