Introduction :
The Andhra Pradesh state has three main physiographic regions: the coastal plain to the
east, extending from the Bay of Bengal to the mountain ranges;
the mountain ranges themselves, the Eastern Ghats, which form
the western flank of the coastal plain; and, in the southwest,
the plateau to the west of the Ghats.
Where are landforms found? Landforms are the physical features on the outer layer of the
earth, i.e. it's surface. The earth's landforms take their actual
shape naturally through various processes such as weathering,
sinking, soil erosion, elevation, water etc.
What Are the Most Common Landforms?
a) The Vast Oceans. Oceans are the most common type of
landform in the world. ...
b) Plains are a Dominant Landform. Plains are the largest land
landform in the world. ...
c) The High Mountains. Mountains are large landforms that
rise well above its surroundings. ...
d) Plateaus and Hills.
What are first order landforms?
1. Continents and oceans are first order landform.
2. Mountains, Plateaus and Plains are second order landform.
3. Valleys, Beaches, Deltas, Lakes, Volcanoes and Sand dumes
are third order landform.
What are the benefits of landforms?
The landforms on the Earth's surface have influenced human
life in different ways. Fertile plains have been formed by the
rivers originating in the mountains. These rivers are our
perennial source of water for irrigation and other purposes. The
plateaus are often described as the store house of minerals.
What are the major higher landforms found in Andhra Pradesh?
Andhra Pradesh has a wide range of landforms, ranging from
the hilly Eastern Ghats and Nallamala Hills to the Bay of Bengal
shores. Arma Konda (also known as Jindhagada) is the highest
elevation point in the state at 1,690 m (5,540 ft). It is also the
tallest mountain peak in the entire Eastern Ghats.
What are main kinds of landforms?
Mountains, hills, plateaux, and plains are the four major types
of landforms. Minor landforms include buttes, canyons, valleys,
and basins. Tectonic plate movement under the Earth can create
landforms by pushing up mountains and hills.

Bhashyam's :: 3 :: 6th_Social Studies_F.A.–2

What are 2 types of erosion? There are two types of erosion : Intrinsic and Extrinsic.
What are the disadvantages of landforms?
Disadvantages of landforms...
a) landforms affect people by their shifting.....
b) they effects people by their structure.....
c) they effects climate.....
d) they are also the reason of earthquake because earthquake
occurs where tectonic plates meet......
How do landforms affect weather?
Explanation: These effects can cause huge changes in the
temperature, precipitation, and humidity of a region. An
example is when a storm encounters a mountain range. The
clouds can not go over the mountains, so the upwind side receives
plentiful rainfall while the downwind side gets little to no rain.

Planning and procedure
We the students of class VI & VII of Bhashyam School planned
a field trip with the help of our social teachers on 11th of July
this year to Chintakunta the ancient rock painting site in
Muddanur mandal and Ranibavi of Mydukur mandal of Y.S.R.
Kadapa district.
A rock art painting site dating back to Neolitic age and
Megalithic age (Ironage) and upto the early historic period (from
4,500 B.C and 2 A.D) was discovered in Lankalamala reserve
forest at Ranibavi near Mydukur in Kadapa district. More than
100 rock art paintings with mystic figures belonging to human
and wild animals in different postures depicted with white
pigment were found on quartzite rocks in a rock shelter known
as "Diviti Mallanna Banda" or Mallugani Banda, about 9km
distance from Ranibavi near Mydukur.
The Archaeological survey of India found a site in Chintakunta
village near Kadapa that had rock paintings belonging to
Megalithic and Neolithic period (8000 B.C. - 1500 B.C). They
were found in the forest of Lankalamala reserve that lies 7km
away from Muddanur Village.
Collection of data :
Analysis : The figures of a man holding a trident, nandipadas, human
figure with mask, a warrior with weapon on horse, confronting
an elephant with weapon, men stretching their hands towards
women can be seen there.
The pre-historic man used saliva, animal feet and crushed bones
as binding material that made the pigment last for thousands
of years.
The paintings include human, animal and geometric designs.
These include warriors with bows and arrows, religious symbols,
animals like elephants, deer, fox, bulls, reptiles etc., One can
see the paintings of humped bulls in the shelter called 'Eddula
Avula Gundu'.
Conclusion : We found that there is still more to learn from the rock paintings.
The rock art sites are to be preserved for future generation.
Plan of excursion : Find out if there are any rock painting sites near your place
and visit them with your class mates. Write a report on it and
exhibit in your class.
Acknowledgment : I am thankful to my social teacher.
