II. Program Background and Rationale

Learning and Development (L&D) is defined for the purpose of this framework as the
process of providing professional development for the personnel of DepEd. The process
is aimed at improving competencies and work performance through the provision of a
wide variety of opportunities for individual growth in knowledge, attitudes, and skills. It
is a personal and professional growth process, which necessarily integrates the goals of
the individual professional with the development goals of the school, division, and
region for better learner outcomes. The ultimate beneficiaries of L&D are the learners
whose rights to quality education shall be the system’s foremost consideration.

Supplementary Learning Materials are substantial tools for delivering lessons of

teachers to the learners. Teachers are the best developers of these supplementary
learning materials. They have the best capacity to develop a set of well-fit instructional
materials for the learners to attain the mastery of learning competencies.
Teachers accept responsibility for

learners' education, Teachers devote the majority of their time to teaching and learning
activities, Teachers efficiently plan their learning environments and employ group
management tactics to maximize the amount of time learners spend in lessons,
Teachers work through the curriculum rapidly but in small steps, minimizing learners’
frustration and allowing for continual improvement, Teachers actively instruct, show
skills, explain ideas, lead interactive activities, and give reviews as needed, Teachers
track each learner's progress and provide feedback and remedial instruction as needed
to ensure mastery, Teachers are seen as passionate, supportive educators who
maintain a pleasant, friendly classroom environment, Teachers highlight relevant
societal concerns that students can address using the knowledge and abilities they will
obtain from the lesson, Teachers work together to coordinate their teaching materials
across grade levels in order to provide learners with ongoing and smooth learning.

IMPORTANT CHARACTERISTICS OF INTEGRATION

It must cross over into a different subject area integrated lessons must always focus on
the specific learning objective. There are numerous ways to include various curriculum
areas in a lesson. Teachers will just plan and exert effort to achieve it.
Integration can also be impromptu or unplanned. The teacher must be vigilant and
aware of what he can do to spice up the lesson.

As 21st century teachers, allow the teaching-learning process to extend beyond the
competency of the lesson and help students realize how the learning areas are
interconnected.

III. Program Description

This LAC Session is a classroom training and coaching in learning materials, and
enrichment of concept in item analysis and e-class record. Since target participants
have specific learning areas and will try to collaborate their content to other learning
areas by integrating the supplementary learning materials that are highly needed of a
classroom teacher, it also indicated that the development of supplementary learning
materials is an initiative that motivates teachers for promotion.

Learning and Development is made up of key objectives that the personnel should
achieve and includes from technical to behavioral and leadership skills. The learning
and development plans focus on improved learning and consider the development
priorities of the school, division, region, and central office.

knowledge and understanding of the lesson. This will also benefit learners by adopting
interdisciplinary activities that will assess learning outcomes in a collaborative manner.

Organizational Outcome:
School as an organization is mandated to deliver quality education among learners.

curriculum learning areas, teachers will be abreast with know-how in developing more
engaging and meaningful lessons. Likewise, collaboration among teachers in developing
learning materials that encompasses different areas will be materialized.

Outputs:
At the end of the session, teachers will be able to contextualize the electronic materials
that are suitable for learner’s progress and development, teachers will also develop an
enrichment activity for item analysis and e-class record. Furthermore, interdisciplinary
learning materials that encompasses two or more learning areas will be developed also.

Competencies:
Competence in integration content across and within learning area will be developed
among teachers. Learners are expected to showcase in-depth knowledge on specific
learning areas. Wide latitude discussion is expected during the class interaction due to
wide ranging topic that encompasses other field of interest related to the lesson.
