POSITIVE NERVOUSNESS
Controlled nervousness that energizes the speaker for presentation. Use nervousness to make
you more productive and successful. Nervous = anxious.
To get focused, organized thinking. Involves the relationship between ideas, soundness of
evidence, and differences between facts and opinions.
FRAME OF REFERENCES
- Is your knowledge, experiences, goals, values, and attitudes total? Your frame of
reference filters everything you hear or say.
- No two people have the same frame of reference.
ETHNOCENTRISM
- Believing one group or culture is better than all other groups or cultures.
- Listeners also have to avoid ethnocentrism
