PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Recreation is a therapeutic or relaxation of one’s body and mind. Activities done for this purpose
are called recreational activities. Its main objective is to revitalize the physical, mental, social,
and emotional aspects of a person. Dance is a recreational activity that can develop an
individual’s physical, mental, social, and emotional health.

•STREET DANCE – Refers to dance styles that have evolved outside the dance studios. It is
performed in streets, dance parties, parks, school yard, or in any available space.

HIP-HOP DANCE – refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that
evolve as part of the hip-hop culture.

1.BREAKING A style of street dance and the first hip-hop dance style that originated among
Black and Puerto Rican youths in New York City during the early 1970s.
2.POPPING Was popularized by Samuel Boogaloo Sam Solomon and his crew
3.LOCKING Can be identified by its distinctive stops on fast movement (locking the body into
a position), holding it, and then continuing at the same speed as before. The lock is similar to a
freeze or a sudden pause.
4.KRUMPING This is a form of dancing that originated in the African-American community of
South Central Los Angeles, California. This is relatively a new form of the “Urban” Black dance
movement. It is free and expressive and highly energetic. Its dance style is to release anger. It is
reported that gang riots in the U.S. do this.
5. SHUFFLING The basic movements of the dance are a fast heel and toe action with a style
suitable for various types of electronic music.
TUTTING is a creative way of making geometric shapes forming right angle shapes using your
body parts. The style was originally practiced by young funk dancers. It is derived from the
positions people were drawn in during the days of the Ancient Egyptians
WAAKING is an African American form of street dance originating from the 1970s disco era of
the underground club scenes in Los Angeles and New York City .It consist of stylized posing and
fast synchronized arm movements to the beat of the music.

HEALTH
One of biggest advantage of globalization to the world is the development and improvement of
many health programs initiated by different nations, governments and organization to address
health issues and concerns.
The United Nations Millennium Development Goals are eight goals that has 191 UN affiliate
states who have contracted to try to achieve by the year 2015. “The United Nations Millennium
Declaration, signed in September 2000 binds world leaders to stop poverty, hunger, disease,
illiteracy, environmental degradation, and discrimination against women”. The MDGs are
derived from this Declaration, and all have definite goals and guides.
The MDGs have been replaced by the Sustainable Development Goals, a set of 17 combined
and united goals that foster on the achievements of the MDGs but are broader, deeper and far
more ambitious in scope.
On September 25, 2015, 193 leaders of different countries at the United Nations General
Assembly establish a pool of 17 goals known as The Sustainable Development Goals or simply
Global Goals. The SDGs and their 169 targets form the fundamental of Resolution 70/1 of the
United Nations, which is a leap forward agreement called AGENDA 2030. • The goals are to be
achieved by all member states by year 2030. They are a universal call to action to end poverty,
protect the planet and ensure all people enjoy harmony and prosperity. The goals are broad,
symbiotic and cover social, economic and social problems and making them work is the whole
world’s responsibility.
