Airports:
From Heathrow Airport, you can get to the hotel via underground/metro. Simply take the Piccadilly
Line to the Russell Square station, which is a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
From Gatwick Airport, you can use the Thameslink-operated trains from the airport train station in
the South Terminal, which stop at St Pancras International Train Station. The Tavistock Hotel is
about a 15-minute walk from there.
Train Stations:
The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from Euston, King's Cross, and St. Pancras International train
stations (see map above). Alternatively, you can take the Piccadilly Line from King’s Cross/St. Pancras
to Russell Square station.
Getting to the BRITISH ACADEMY from Tavistock Hotel

Underground:
To get to the venue from the Tavistock Hotel, you can take the Northern Line from Goodge Street
station (a 10-minute walk from the hotel) to Charing Cross underground station. At Charing Cross,
exit from “Exit 13-The Mall”, which is about a 5-minute walk from the British Academy building.
Alternatively, the Piccadilly Line from Russell Square station can be taken to Piccadilly Circus, which
is a 10-minute walk from the British Academy if you take the “Regent Street/St. James’” exit.
Walking:
It takes about 35-40 minutes to walk to the British Academy from Tavistock Hotel. Exiting the hotel,
turn left and take the first left again onto Bedford Way. Turn right on Russell Square and then the
first right onto Montague Place (British Museum will be on your lefthand side). Continue on
Montague Place until you get to Tottenham Court Road. Turn left onto Tottenham Court Road, and
continue onto Charing Cross Road. At the Cambridge Circus intersection, turn right onto Shaftesbury
Avenue. Continue on the left until Piccadilly Circus, and take a slight left onto Regent Street St
James's. Continue straight ahead onto Waterloo Place, the British Academy is on the left at the
end of Waterloo Place. It is the first building on the left of the Duke of York monument.
