BACK TO THE BASICS OF THE FUNDAMENTALS OF FAITH

KENNETH COPELAND
AIR DATES: JANUARY 8-12, 2024

DAY 1 – THE LAW OF FAITH

Psalm 91 is the soldier’s Psalm. There is a soldier’s promise. Faith is now. Hope is in the
future. There are fundamentals of faith.

STUDY IT
I. Psalm 91 is the soldier’s Psalm.
• A friend of Brother Copeland was a commander, an Army Ranger.
o He was assigned to take a unit into a high-casualty situation.
o Brother Copeland prayed for him and his men.
o Brother Copeland told the commander to insist that every one of the soldiers
in the unit memorize Psalm 91 to the point that he could announce a specific
verse and they would be able to quote it.
o When the unit returned, the commander called Brother Copeland to report
that there were no casualties.

II. There is a soldier’s promise.

• The soldier who goes to war can be guiltless before The LORD and before the
nation.
o “And Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will go armed before
The LORD to war, and will go all of you armed over Jordan before The LORD,
until He hath driven out His enemies from before Him, and the land be
subdued before The LORD: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless
before The LORD, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession
before The LORD” (Numbers 32:20-22).
• Soldiers can claim this and return without PTSD. First responders can claim the
same promise. All of these things require faith.

III. Faith is now. Hope is in the future.

• God the Father, Jesus (The WORD) and the Holy Spirit created the heavens and
the earth out of words of faith (Genesis 1:1-3).
o The Holy Spirit is the same Spirit who dwells in you.
• God’s promises have a guarantee of happening—if you believe.

o That’s the way a person who is God-inside minded thinks.
o You have support from inside—“possessing enough to require no aid or
support” (2 Corinthians 9:8, AMPC).
• Brother Kenneth E. Hagin used to say, “We have inside information—inside this
Book.” So, have faith in God’s WORD.
• Faith: If we know what it is, and we know who has it, and we know how it’s
released, and we know what feeds it, we have arrived at a place of operation.
o “Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things
[we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of
their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]”
(Hebrews 11:1, AMPC).
o Hope is important. Hope is the inner image; it’s the blueprint for faith.
• Faith, hope and Love; and the greatest of these is Love (1 Corinthians 13:13).
• Without faith it is impossible to please God. We must believe that He is and that
He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).
o Both of those things take faith, but you can believe them because they are
God’s WORD.

IV. There are fundamentals of faith.

• James wrote, “Be a doer of The WORD and not a hearer only” (James 1:22).
• Being a hearer of God’s WORD only is like a man looking in a mirror, then
forgetting what his face looks like (James 1:23-25).
o But if you look into the perfect law of liberty, and continue to be a doer and
not forgetful, you will be BLESSED.

MAKE IT PERSONAL
There is a law of faith. That means for faith to work, it must adhere to specific guidelines.
Faith is the way we access the grace of God. We all have a measure of faith. Faith works by
Love. Faith is blocked by unforgiveness. Without faith, it is impossible to please God.
Write down a thanksgiving prayer to The LORD for giving you faith with which you can
move mountains and please Him.

AIR DATES: JANUARY 8-12, 2024

DAY 2 – PUT YOUR FAITH INTO ACTION

Faith without works is dead. We are in a revival called the faith movement, or the Word of
Faith. Paul wrote about how to obtain righteousness. Kenneth Copeland Ministries is sent to
preach to people how to be saved and grow in faith.

STUDY IT
I. Faith without works is dead (James 2:20).
• Works are “corresponding action” to that faith according to James 2:18
(Weymouth New Testament in Modern Speech).
• Brother Copeland had a little white spot on his hand.
o It began to get worse, so according to James 5:14-15, he called his pastor to
anoint him with oil and pray the prayer of faith in the Name of The LORD.
o When Pastor George touched the spot with oil, Brother Copeland felt
something like an electrical shock, and he knew he was healed.
o Brother Copeland went to a doctor to confirm his healing. The cancer was
gone! The power of God had healed him!

II. We are in a revival called the faith movement, or the Word of Faith.
• Smith Wigglesworth prophesied that a great revival was coming, especially in
America. It would be a combination of The WORD being taught and preached.
o The fulfillment of the prophecy began right after WWII. Oral Roberts was
doing the preaching and Kenneth E. Hagin was doing the teaching.

III. Paul wrote about how to obtain righteousness.

• The Jews were zealous for God and His righteousness, but they tried to establish
righteousness through their own works (Romans 10:1-3).
• Paul emphasized that for everyone who believes in Christ, the Law is no longer
the way to be right with God (Romans 10:4).
o Notice Paul didn’t say Jesus; he said Christ, the Anointed One and His
Anointing.
• Moses described the righteousness which is of the Law as perfect obedience to
the Law. The man who does those things shall live by them (Romans 10:5).

• But the righteousness which is of faith speaks belief in Christ (Romans 10:6).
o “The WORD is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart; that is the
Word of Faith which we preach” (Romans 10:8).
• Now we get into the action of faith. Believe it in your heart and say it with your
mouth.
o “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth The LORD Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10).
• Paul continued: “Whosoever shall call upon The Name of The LORD shall be
saved” (Romans 10:13).
o We call upon the Name of The LORD by faith, and we are saved.
• Make this confession: “I’m not moved by what I see. I’m not moved by what I feel.
I am moved only by what I believe, and I believe The WORD of the living God.”

IV. Kenneth Copeland Ministries is sent to preach and teach people how to be saved and
grow in faith.
• That’s why we need Partners: to help preach salvation through faith to more
people.
o “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by The WORD of God”
(Romans 10:17).
• God has freely justified us by His grace and has given us His righteousness for the
remission of sins (Romans 3:25).
• Paul said we have received remission of sins, not atonement.
o To atone means “to cover.” The blood of bulls and goats covered sin.
o The remission of sins by the blood of Jesus wiped out sin! We receive it by the
simple act of repenting by faith.
• Be quick to repent, slow to anger and quick to forgive.
• We cannot boast about being forgiven, because we received it by faith in the
actions of Jesus Christ.
o Grace operates by the law of faith (Romans 4:16).

MAKE IT PERSONAL
It’s time to put your faith into action. Ask The LORD to show you how.
Pray with us.
Father God, I want to put my faith into action. Please show me in Your WORD and by
the daily leading of the Holy Spirit how to do it. Thank You, Sir. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

BACK TO THE BASICS OF THE FUNDAMENTALS OF FAITH

KENNETH COPELAND
AIR DATES: JANUARY 8-12, 2024

DAY 3 – HOW TO APPLY THE FUNDAMENTALS OF FAITH

The fundamentals of faith. The promise of the Covenant is to all the seed. The law of faith is
accessed by the fundamentals of faith. You learn to fly an airplane by starting with the
fundamentals; learn to use faith the same way. Faith is a spiritual, not mental, force.

STUDY IT
I. The fundamentals of faith.
• Call those things you don’t see as if they were already yours (Romans 4:17).
• Call your body healed. Call your body pain free.

II. The promise of the Covenant is to all the seed.

• “If ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the
promise”—the same promise Abraham received (Galatians 3:29).
• Brother Copeland said to The LORD: “If there’s something in the earth that You
need to be prayed, LORD, use me.”
o The word of The LORD came: You should understand that you are an
instrument in My hands. I have representative in the earth through My Spirit.
But, like any spirit, neither the Holy Spirit nor the devil has full range in the
earth without a human in which to dwell. That’s the reason demon-possessed
people act like their father, the devil. And that’s the reason Holy Spirit-possessed
people act like Me, if they know My WORD and walk in the fruit of the spirit.
Those nine fruits will create holiness.

III. The law of faith is accessed by the fundamentals of faith.

No. 1: Believe it in your heart and say it with your mouth.
No. 2: Faith will not work in an unforgiving heart.
No. 3: Abraham’s BLESSING cannot be received with Thomas’ faith.
No. 4: Faith calls things that be not as though they were.
No. 5: Faith demands corresponding action.
o The woman with the issue of blood used corresponding action. She said it,
she believed it, she did it and she told it.

IV. Learn to fly an airplane by starting with the fundamentals.
• WWII flight training began by saying, “Gentlemen, this is an airplane.”
• Brother Copeland learned the basics of flying a Cessna 150; then a Cessna 172;
then a Beechcraft Bonanza; then the Beechcraft Baron for multiengine rating.
o He used the same fundamentals; he just trained to build more knowledge.
o Then he continued to increase until he earned his instrument rating.
o Brother Copeland eventually flew a Lockheed JetStar, then Cessna jets up to
and including the Citation X.
• A 747 jet would have flown in the Garden of Eden; however, no one knew how to
fly, and no one needed to know except the birds.
• A law is predictable. When all the elements of the law of lift are put together,
then it is predictable that flight is possible.

V. Faith is a spiritual, not mental, force.

• Jesus’ words are a spiritual force.
• The former madman of Gadara was delivered, in his right mind and clothed
(Mark 5:15).
o Jesus brought clothes with Him, knowing He would call the man to preach
and the man would need some clothes.
• Corresponding action is evidence of your belief in what’s going to happen.

MAKE IT PERSONAL
The fundamentals of faith are good, but for them to work for you, you must apply them.
When you get ready to pray the prayer of faith, go through a checklist:

I’m going to say my petition with my mouth; do I believe God will do it?
Have I forgiven others and myself?
Am I using the faith of Abraham or the doubt of Thomas?
Am I calling things I don’t yet see as if they have already been done?
Am I using corresponding action?

When you have checked all the boxes, you are ready to pray the prayer of faith.

DAY 4 – WALK BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT

Jesus only said what He heard His Father say; and He only did what He saw His Father do. If
you can say, “It is written” based on God’s WORD, you will see the results of what you say.
Jairus and the woman with the issue of blood were two examples of living by faith. Brother
Copeland already knew how to walk by faith because of his flight training. We became new
creatures in Christ when we were born again.

STUDY IT
I. Jesus only said what He heard His Father say; and He only did what He saw His
Father do.
• That’s why Jesus often said, “It is written.”
• What did Jesus hear His Father say? He heard what was already written by the
prophets.
• Jesus cleaned out the Temple because He knew it was written. “My house shall be
called a house of prayer of all nations” (Matthew 21:13; Isaiah 56:7).
• Jesus said to the fig tree, “No man eat fruit of you hereafter for ever”
(Mark 11:14).
o Jesus’ disciples heard it, and the next morning, they saw the fig tree dried up
from the roots.
• Faith will go to the root of a problem.

II. If you can say, “It is written,” based on God’s WORD, you will see the results of what
you say.
• Jesus said, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this
mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in
his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he
shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye
desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And
when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also
which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses” (Mark 11:23-25).
• That’s the fundamental law of faith.

III. Jairus and the woman with the issue of blood were two examples of faith
(Mark 5:22-42).
• On the way to Jairus’ house, a woman with an issue of blood touched Jesus’
garment and was made whole, physically and financially.
• Jairus was told his daughter was dead; but Jesus said, “Don’t be afraid; only
believe.” Jesus raised Jairus’ daughter from the dead, and she was totally healed.

IV. Brother Copeland already knew how to walk by faith.

• He is an instrument-rated pilot. He doesn’t fly by what he thinks, sees or feels; he
goes by what the instruments say.
• “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are
not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are
not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18).
• God’s WORD is our instrument panel. We walk by faith; that is, we trust God’s
instruments—His WORD.

V. We became new creatures in Christ when we were born again (2 Corinthians 5:17).
• Brother Copeland took off in an airplane, and the controller gave him
instructions to ascend to a specific altitude.
• The LORD said, Why aren’t you upset? Didn’t you file a flight plan for 41,000 feet?
They only gave you permission to fly at 11,000 feet.
o Brother Copeland answered, “LORD, I’m not upset. That radar controller can
see all the traffic. I can’t.”
o The LORD said, I wish other preachers would give Me that much credit…. I am
your Radar Controller. I know what’s out there, and I know it before it happens.
• The LORD is our Radar. He can see everything. He planned it before the
foundation of the world. We walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
• We were made right with God.
o “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be
made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

MAKE IT PERSONAL
Receive God as your Radar Controller. He can see everything and guide you to success.
Pray with us:
Heavenly Father, You know everything and You can see everything. I ask You, now, to
be my Controller, to guide and protect me all the days of my life. I thank You. In Jesus’
Name. Amen.

AIR DATES: JANUARY 8-12, 2024

DAY 5 – RECEIVE GOD’S PROMISES BY FAITH

If you are in Christ Jesus, you are the seed of Abraham and an heir of the promise. Jesus’
blood is on the heavenly Mercy Seat. Brother Copeland and Gloria had to learn to use faith.

STUDY IT
I. If you are in Christ Jesus, you are the seed of Abraham and an heir of the promise.
• “Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be
sure to all the seed” (Romans 4:16).
• The curse is threefold: spiritual death, sickness and disease, and poverty.
o We’ve been redeemed from the curse of the Law (Galatians 3:13).
• THE BLESSING of Abraham is spiritual life (that happened when you made Jesus
The LORD of your life), healing and miracles (actually divine health), and
prosperity.
• God promised to take sickness away from you (Exodus 23:20).
o When Brother Copeland got the revelation of this, he shouted, “I’ll never be
sick another day in my life hereafter forever.”
• Speak your belief, then take corresponding action. You have to do something
about what goes into your mouth and what comes out of your mouth.
• Brother Copeland tested negative five times for COVID. He refused to have it.
o Someone said, “You’re in denial.” He said, “Yes, I deny the right for that thing
to exist in my body. My body has been bought by the blood of Jesus.”

II. Jesus’ blood is on the heavenly Mercy Seat.

• All the utensils of worship in heaven had to be cleansed with the blood of Jesus—
up to, but not including, the Throne of God (Hebrews 9:23).
• After the resurrection, Jesus appeared to His disciples (Luke 24:39).
o Jesus ate with them. His physical body was still working, He didn’t need blood
to live. He had a glorified body.
• Thomas wasn’t there. He said, “I will not believe” (John 20:25). He made a
decision to not believe that Jesus was alive, because he didn’t see it.
o Abraham’s BLESSING cannot be received with Thomas’ faith.
• Jesus came again, the doors being shut.

o Jesus spoke directly to Thomas and gave him the proof he required
(John 20:27).
• “BLESSED are they who have not seen, and yet have believed” (John 20:29).

III. Brother Copeland and Gloria had to learn to use faith.

• While attending Oral Roberts University, Kenneth and Gloria lived in a little
house that needed upgrading.
• They had been listening to Kenneth E. Hagin preach that your words create what
you see.
o Kenneth said, “Gloria, this paintbrush is coming all to pieces.”
o Every bristle in the paintbrush fell out. He got exactly what he had said.
o They learned to believe that their words had power and would give them
what they said.
• The LORD spoke to Gloria and said, In consistency lies the power.
o There is power in consistently saying what you believe, and consistently
believing it will come to pass.
• That’s how you got saved. You believed in your heart and said with your mouth
the Word of Faith which was preached (Romans 10:9-10).

IV. We have to renew our minds to the good, acceptable and perfect will of God
(Romans 12:2).
• The night Brother Copeland got born again, he was still supporting the family by
flying airplanes. That wasn’t the perfect will of God for him, but it was acceptable
for that time.
o As Brother Copeland learned from Oral Roberts and Brother Hagin, he moved
into the perfect will of God.
• Each of us has been given a measure of faith. We are members of the Body of
Jesus Christ (Romans 12:3-4).
