Bloom’s Taxonomy Level(s): (Which level(s) will this lesson meet using this technology tool?)
Please put an X in the box or next to the level(s). Do not highlight or bold the response.
How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:
Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.
X Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic of
learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.
X Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to
demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.
(Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing
it via an outside source.)
Lesson idea implementation:
I will begin the lesson by showing my students the podcast that I created on Spotify for

Podcasters. After doing so, I will introduce the technological platform and give them a brief
rundown of how it is operated. The students will then be given the option to create a response
podcast or video. Students will have to talk about what season it is currently and what evidence
they found to support their claim. Throughout their video or podcast, the students will have to
provide sound reasoning for the evidence they chose and how it supports their claim of which
season we are in. I will provide the students with a guide to navigate their chosen platform and
how to properly complete the task. Once completed the students will submit and share their
artifact with the class.
Managing student learning:
The shift in learning will move from passive to active learners. The teachers podcast will guide the students to
then be able to create their own to display their findings. Then the students will shift to active learners as the
apply, evaluate, and then create their own platform based on their findings. Students will be required to
explain which platform they chose and why they chose it. During the process, I will ask the students to follow
the Ask 3, Then Me rule. Doing this encourages peer engagement and assists them in being self-proficient
when faced with a challenge. If they still are unable to figure out their problem, then they can come to me for
assistance.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: Be sure to mention one specific UDL principle you
are focused on in this lesson – Multiple Means of Engagement, Multiple Means of Representation,
or Multiple Means of Action & Expression.
The lesson I have created implements all 3 sections of UDL: engagement, representation, and action
or expression. The tool allows for audio and voice recordings and provides subtitles. The subtitles
can be done in multiple languages which will help support any English Language Learners. Students
can also be creative in the creations and the lesson provides them freedom and choices.
Reflection:
I feel like this lesson will impact students learning in a positive manner. They are given the freedom
of choice, creativity, and information. I look forward to implementing the platforms, podcast, and
video, and seeing all of the amazing and creative things they made from it. I also look forward to
getting their feedback on the experience. Seeing what they create and hearing what they thought of
the assignment and platform will only further educate me on what works best for my students.
