Introduction
Nursing has been described as a caring relationship between
a person and a nurse. It embraces all cultures, ages, and both
sexes. It is about helping the patient to find ways to improve
their healthcare. The World Health Organization (1996) states
that nursing encompasses autonomous and collaborative
care of individuals of all ages, families, groups, and
communities, sick or well and in all situations. It includes the
promotion of health, the prevention of illness, and the care of
ill, disabled, and dying people. Advocacy, promotion of a safe
environment, research, participation in shaping health policy,
in patient and healthcare management, and education are

also key nursing roles. When you look at this wide variety of
what nursing involves, it is clear that nursing has an ever-
changing role and scope in both the healthcare sector and the
community. Nursing has been described as a caring

The first consideration in exploring the nature of nursing is its
wide diversity in the form of practice and areas of work. This
refers to the fact that there are a number of different roles or
'types of nursing'. Some of these include: registered nurses,
nurse practitioners, enrolled nurses, and assistants in nursing.
Each of these roles differs not only in its title but also in the
level or extent of education and therefore the competencies
possessed by the person undertaking the role. Consequently,
the scope of practice, that is the extent to which a person can
or should carry out the duties of their role

Description
On the first day In the hospital, I was very nervous and
anxious. I arrived at the hospital early in the morning and met
the nursing staff. The head nurse took me and introduced me
to the hospital and the floor where I would be trained. Then
she entered the patient and then I worked Assessment, Caer
plan ,and Cear record.
After that, I provided care for the patient and I was very
afraid because it was the first time I was dealing with a
patient and providing him with the correct care in the best
way. I was either able to measure the blood pressure or
provide him with vital operations with the best interface and I
was in the best condition because of this stress and lack of
concentration that I was in, but with the support of the
doctor, he stopped and encouraged me. I had to provide him
with the best care and I remained calm in front of the patient
so as not to affect the patient’s health condition, but I howled
again after an hour had passed, and after that, the care was
complete and the tension went away, but I gained a lot of
experience after that.
Feeling
Upon my arrival at the hospital, I displayed an outwardly calm
and professional attitude, despite feeling incredibly nervous
inside. With permission from the nurse in charge, I set about
making patients and politely introducing myself. Having
recently completed a communication skills course, I was

acutely aware of how important this skill was in a healthcare
setting and was determined to gather an adequate history
from a chosen patient in order to complete a care plan later
on during my placement.
Evaluation
Analysis
When I think about my first day In the hospital, there are
many factors that contributed to my positive and negative

experiences. Firstly, my positive experiences. Working with
experienced nurses who were willing to direct and guide me
helped me feel more confident and comfortable in my role
as a student nurse. In addition to that, the opportunIty was
provided. To help sick people with basic needs, such as
helping them get up and move around and bringing them
water One of the reasons I was anxious about that was
because it was the first time in a long while that I had to feel
like a real student and prove how much I have learned. I
have been a paramedic for about seven years now, working
full time and part time. I have run into several types of
healthcare providers that wanted something done in a
certain way, but I knew that their intent had no evidence or
the provider just had not changed practice in a long time
and was doing something outdated.

Conclusion
At the end of this interesting and enjoyable day, I am very
happy that I can now deal with the patient and provide him
with the best care, and to feel that you can save the life of a
sick person who needs help. It is a wonderful feeling and it is
a new experience that I deserve to continue and develop
myself with and be better.
Action plan
After the end of the day, I must practice more on how to deal
with the patient, focus more on my work in college, pay more
attention, and practice more on measuring the patient’s
blood pressure.
I should listen to the doctor’s words and advice and pay
attention to every word he says because he wants me to
learn and become skilled in the field of nursing and able to do
so.
