RANDY MISAEL SEBASTIAN DELLOSA
Randy Misael Sebastian Dellosa, popularly known

as Doc Randy is a Filipino psychologist and psychiatrist.
He is popularly known as the life coach-

psychotherapist of Filipino celebrities and was the
resident psychiatrist in the Pinoy Big Brother and Pinoy
Dream Academy reality shows of ABS-CBN Network as well as game shows
such as Deal or No Deal.
He Is distinguished as the first and so far the only Filipino who is both a
psychiatrist (M.D.) and a doctor of clinical psychology (Psy.D.).
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND :
Dellosa studied in various Philippine educational and training institutions:
 La Salle Green Hills for his elementary education;

 Ateneo de Manila University for his high school education;
 University of the Philippines for his college education in
Psychology;
 Far Eastern University – Institute of Medicine for his medical
studies; and
 Makati Medical Center and Veterans Memorial Medical Center for
his psychiatry residency training.
He received training in Gestalt Psychotherapy and in various Healing

Arts in Europe (Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, etc.) and in Asia (India,
Indonesia, etc.) under the Gestalt Education Network International.
He was awarded his Doctor of Psychology Degree (Psy.D.) from the

Southern California University where he was awarded scholarship, aside from
graduating with academic honors (cum laude).
WORK EXPERIENCES :
Randy Dellosa is a life coach, psychotherapist, clinical psychologist,
psychiatrist, physician, and osteopath. With his extensive educational
background and decades of clinical experience, Randy’s main mission is to
help you let go of the emotional baggage and psychological blocks that hinder
you from living a full and joyful life. With compassion and competence, Randy
will listen to you, understand your situation, and help you overcome your life
problems. Not only will he help you experience healing in your life, he will
guide you towards a journey of personal growth and wellness as well.

Randy is a proponent for emotional wellness and psychological health
in the workplace. Randy realizes that one’s work life, home life, and personal
life are tightly intertwined and that stress and problems in one aspect of life
will affect all other aspects of living. As a Consultant for Workplace
Counseling, Randy assists companies in setting up Counseling Services in the
workplace. Through one-on-one counseling sessions, he helps employees
deal with their problems so that they become more efficient, more productive,
and more fulfilled at work.

VIRGILIO G. ENRIQUEZ
Virgilio G. Enriquez (November 24, 1942 –

August 31, 1994), also known as Doc E, was a social
psychologist and the Father of Filipino psychology
“Ama ng Sikolohiyang Pilipino”.
He was born on November 24, 1942, at Santol,

Balagtas formally Bigaa, Bulacan. He was the
youngest of 5 children to Arsenio Libiran Enriquez and Rosario Galvez Gaspar.
He is the founder of the Pambansang Samahan sa Sikolohiyang Pilipino,
(corporate name: National Association for Sikolohiyang Pilipino, Inc.).
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND :
Enriquez earned his B.A. in philosophy from the University of the

Philippines Diliman in 1961. In 1966, he attended Northwestern University in
Evanston, Illinois, to pursue a master’s degree, and later a Doctorate degree in
social psychology.
He then returned to the Philippines in 1971 to continue teaching

psychology. Filipino psychology was created because he noticed that scholars
and intellectuals in the Philippines were dissatisfied with the Western-oriented
take on psychology as their models did not fit with Filipino culture and
behavior. As such, he focused more on a Filipino-oriented teaching model in
his teaching and research including using Filipino to lecture and exam.
WORK EXPERIENCE :
Enriquez began his academic career as a professor of psychology at the

University of the Philippines, Diliman, in 1963. Enriquez authored several
publications in indigenous psychology, Filipino personality, psychology of
language and politics, philosophy and values, cross- cultural psychology, and
Pilipinolohiya (Philippine Studies)
Contribution of Virgilo Enriquez in the field of
Psychology :
Virgilio G. Enriquez, made significant contributions to the field of
psychology, particularly in the Philippines. His most notable contribution is
the development of Sikolohiyang Pilipino or Filipino Psychology. He sought to
establish a distinct psychological framework that is rooted in Filipino culture,
values, and experiences.
Enriquez emphasized the importance of understanding the Filipino

psyche from an indigenous perspective, aiming to challenge the Western-
centric approach to psychology. He advocated for the inclusion of Filipino
cultural concepts, beliefs, and practices in psychological research and theory.
His work paved the way for the recognition and validation of indigenous
knowledge systems and practices within the field of psychology. Enriquez’s
contributions have had a lasting impact on the study of psychology in the
Philippines, promoting cultural sensitivity, social relevance, and a deeper
understanding of the Filipino people’s experiences and mental well-being.
