degrees and secondary school diplomas. Exams and ongoing assessments are frequently used to
measure academic progress, but opinions on how best to assess it and what factors matter most—
declarative information like facts or procedural knowledge like skills—are divided. Extracurricular
academic (EAA), or cultural activity is any student-performed activity that is not part of the regular
curriculum in a school, college, or university. These kinds of events are typically social, charitable,
and voluntary (as opposed to required), and they frequently involve people of the same age.
According to Erin Morris (May 2019), Participation in Extracurricular activities has been
associated with several benefits to students, including higher academic achievement noncognitive
skills, and transferable skills. Based on Azar Abizada (2020) some extracurricular activities have

This study will focus on the impact of student’s participation in extracurricular activities
on their academic performances. The major subject of this research study will consist of Senior
High School Students of school year 2023-2024. The respondents will be taken only 60 students

High School, Sto Tomas San Luis Pampanga. This research used survey questionnaires and the
respondents is randomly taken. The researchers will used quantitative research design.
Theoretical Framework
This study is anchored from theoretical support of James Coleman (2006). James
Coleman's "multiple role theory" posits that extracurricular activities provide additional,
complimentary roles for a student that benefits the student academically because the added role of
athlete, for example, increases self-esteem and overall participation/interest in school, which can
boost grades.

According to Brigham et. al (2021) We explore what students tell us about how
out-of-class leisure activities requires students to manage their time effectively and can help
students develop their time management skill, as they learn to balance their academic
responsibilities.
According to Anjum (2021) The study concluded that there is a severe need for the
introduction of extracurricular activities, orientation programs for the students of secondary level.
Introduction of Extracurricular activities to students can give them more understanding about it
and Extracurricular activities expose students to a wide range of skills beyond academics. These
activities provide a platform for students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and enhance
their overall personality and provides students with opportunities to interact with peers who share
similar interests. It fosters social connections, promotes teamwork, and helps students develop
valuable friendships.
According to Billonid et. al (2020) This new educational framework seeks to deliver a more
thorough and well-rounded educational experience for the students. A thorough educational
framework recognizes the unique strengths, interests, and learning styles of individual students. It
emphasizes personalized learning approaches that serve to the diverse needs of students, allowing
them to explore their passions, develop their talents, and reach their full potential.
generally benefit from the many opportunities afforded them. Engaging in Extracurricular
activities can have a wide range of positive impacts on students' personal, social, and Academic
development, it also develop their relationship with individuals who have similar passions, goals,
According to Ahmad et. al (2019) the study found that participating students believe that
extracurricular activities has been associated with improved academic achievement. Engaging in
these kinds of activities helps children develop a well-rounded skill set as well as traits like
discipline and time management, all of which are beneficial to their overall academic achievement.
According to Raheem et. al (2018) the students who actively participate in extracurricular
activities get a lot of benefits including higher grades, and test scores, higher educational
achievements, more regularity in class attendance and higher self-confidence when expressing
their talents and skills not only in academics but also in sports, arts, dancing or singing, etc.
Extracurricular activities help them to know more about their selves and if they can excel in other
things.
According to Culla et. al (2018) Extra-curricular activities are held so students can
participate and improve their self-confidence, self-esteem, and their talents and skills. But
engaging and joining in these extra-curricular activities requires balance and management in the
student’s academics also and they need to allocate sufficient time for academic responsibilities,
including studying, completing assignments, and preparing for exams. Students also need to ensure
they have enough time for relaxation, sleep, and personal well-being.
According to Turkson (2017) the results of the study further revealed that both structured
activities often involve setting and working towards specific goals and unstructured activities
According to Pinto et. al (2017) This study examines whether the academic performance
and the participation in extracurricular activities affect the perceived employability of business
graduates using an experimental between-subjects factorial design. This study examines how
schools' perceptions of their employability. The study enables researchers to examine the ways in
